Palin, I knew Reagan. You're no Reagan.
CNN ^ | 12/1/10 | Ed Rollins

Posted on 12/01/2010 12:06:59 PM PST by pissant

Editor's note: Ed Rollins, a senior political contributor for CNN, is senior presidential fellow at the Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency at Hofstra University. He is a principal with the Dilenschneider Group, a global public relations firm. He was White House political director for President Ronald Reagan and chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

(CNN) -- The first date is over. Not much happened. President Obama and his new governing partners, the House and Senate Republicans, met at the White House along with the Democratic leaders and discussed the unsolvable issues between them.

Even though they made no decisions and both sides went their separate ways, they agreed to start negotiations on extending the tax cuts. That in itself is the beginning of a positive process. They actually talked to each other and talked of a plan for action.

As with real dating, both sides have to get along or nothing will happen. So maybe this situation has more in common with an arranged marriage.

The American voters are the substitute parents, and they want this marriage to work or at least to be civil. And we, the voters, hold the shotgun.

I wish Mrs. Palin and her family well in their realty TV careers. And who knows? Maybe after some exposure there, she could, after a successful, complete term in Congress, or as governor or something, even become a credible contender for a cabinet position.

“Really? Being a BabyMama, feminist and having a kid have a kid out of wedlock is a conservatism? That’s how low Palin’s worshippers have fallen since she has an “R” beside her name. She is not a conservative. Someone who endorses Title IX and agrees with the privacy view of the Roe ruling isn’t a conservative.”

Yes, many praise this!

About abortion, sure she's against it and like most narcissistic people very sensitive. In LISTENING to her read her book, Going Rogue, she was appalled that someone scribbled out abortion and wrote in D&C. She was appalled they a new form couldn't have been sent to her. OTOH, females who get abortions need “privacy”. Odd, how it is WRONG for her and others need “privacy” when they have theirs.

This is a very trashy family. After DWTS, (didn't know Bristol was a “star”), Bristol said winning would be like “giving the middle finger to everyone who hates me and hates my Mom.” Nice mouth Bristol! I see the apple doesn't fall far from the rotting tree. Yes, it's quite the trailer trash, er “conservative” family with “traditional family vlaues”. LOL!

BTW, is Bristol for or against premarital sex? At one point Bristol said "abstinence is not realistic at all". Nect I think Mom confronted her usual rebellion and shut her up. Perhaps she woke Bristol up to the MONEY she could make using herself as the woe is me example!

Bristol Palin: Teen Abstinence 'Not Realistic at All'

By Stephen M. Silverman

Tuesday February 17, 2009 08:15 AM EST

...

Palin, 18, also said in the interview – her first since the teen made headlines last summer during Sarah Palin's GOP vice-presidential campaign – that her mother's view of abstinence, especially in regard to teenagers, is "not realistic at all."

Bristol further stated that although her mother is an outspoken Right to Life advocate, "It was my choice to have the baby. It doesn't matter what my mom's views are on it. It was my decision."

(Great traditional family - NOW, it's all about BRISTOL. Do you see the it's ALL ABOUT ME ATTITUDE trickling down to Bristol? I do. For Sarah Palin, it;s ALL ABOUT HER. For Bristol Palin, it's all ABOUT BRISTOL. I see there is a great relationship with Bristol and her Mom (LOL).

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20259465,00.html

Truly, we really do NOT need another DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY in the WH? I though Clinton was bad and then he got EIGHT YEARS. Now we have the most dysfunctional President we have ever had in our history. Worse yet Obama hates America and if you are WHITE, he especially HATES you.

This lineage of DYSFUNCTIONAL people running our country has to STOP!

Sarah Palin is NO conservative. Palin is Populist with the morals of a free wheeling LIBERALtarian - especially on legalizing ILLEGAL drugs .... pulling a fast one through patriotic sound bites and snarky, petty comments do NOT fool people that USE their brain.

Has America gotten so dumbed down to be fooled AGAIN? Isn't it time for a real conservative to step forward? I think so!

I do feel sorry for Todd. Many women believe he is handsome ... but he knows his place. Todd is seen and NOT heard. Todd KNOWS his place. and he's become about as effeminate as they come. Yes, Sarah proudly wears the pants because Todd can't.... Sarah needs to do that in their family.

Palin’s got the same narcissistic problem that Obama has. It's all about her and she's a FEMALE! Woweee! A FEMALE. She's about 30 years too late. Gender is not an issue with me but for Palin it's HUGE. She's a strong Title 9 advocate and acts like equal pay happened just yesterday. Perhaps she lunches with Gloria Steinem for her joy? Regardless, I know we can do better than Sarah Palin. Sure keep her around as a pit terror. She makes a great attack DOG. Or replace Steele with her.

People that adore her can throw money at her. I'm sure the GOP NEEDS the money after people like Palin endorse and campaign for McPain. yes, I know she says she is against the "ole boy network" but heck give her a chance and she'll outdo the "ole boy network and work to keep it in place as long as it benefits .... drum roll ... SARAH PALIN!!!!

Funny how most of Palin critics seem to have major public character flaws. Maybe they despise her because she doesn’t.

You got that right. That certainly applies to Rove's boss in the Bush campaign as well. His name was David Keene. :)

There have been lots of GOP ( note that I didn't say "conservative" ! ) state wide office holders, in Florida. And yes, you most assuredly do post drivel, your own cockeyed opinions as "fact", and pompous codswallop. Vis-a-vis presidential elections, which is what we have been talking about on this thread, since 1972, the Electoral College votes went to the Dem candidate only 3 times out of 13 races; in '76,'96, and in '08. Ummmmmmm...........Marco Rubio was just elected SENATOR, to the U.S. SENATE, which is hardly a "statewide office, in FLORIDA";unless you were talking about a different election,ODH, you're spouting UTTER DRIVEL, yet again.

She isn’t a serious person and not someone who has succeeded in life. Someone who has to go through five different colleges to earn a degree and who quits half way through her first term as Governor isn’t presidential material.

The GOP troll speaketh more nonsense..

Sarah cannot help it if people compare her to Reagan, but she has never done so herself.

But this thread should reveal to you that Palin is a force to be reckoned with. Look how many posts there have been just because of her name in the heading.

I like her.

As the lady said, ‘you can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses and the pig got up and slowly walked away.’

You can tell a lot about Sarah by her enemies.

Bristol said winning would be like “giving the middle finger to everyone who hates me and hates my Mom.”

People crapped all over Palin. From day 1 they claimed that trig wasn’t really Sarah’s baby. We were treated to all sorts of disgusting analyses of Bristol’s tummy as possible evidence for this ridiculous theory. Alan Colmes even claimed that Sarah was responsible for her son’s condition. Then you have all these wackos who dream about killing her (http://www.slate.com/id/2199661/)
So damn straight, I understand why many Palin supporters, including her daughter, are very very ticked off.

It might help, if just once you actually managed to keep up and follow the thread. The questioned post, was a reply to something actually about me; not Mrs Palin, who, of course, is the subject whom that slimey Rollins wrote this article about, which you posted, because you always post thread which vilify/trash/maul Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin allowed herself to be outmaneuvering in Alaska and forced from office by a few political operatives with false ethics charges.

More nonsense---the GOP tried to wash their hands of her and in so doing, hung her out to dry all alone in Alaska, just as Pete Rouse unleashed his well-funded and well-organized hit squad against her, her administration, and her family.

Reagan wasn’t doing Bedtime for Bonzo movies in his ramp up to the White House.

Oh, alright, against my very best judgment, (I'm feeling especially American today, "judgment" instead of "judgement") I do have a comment:

Thank you, both of you.

Country class? God, family, flag-waving, pro-life, gun-toting or pro-2nd Amendment, Don’t Tread on Me. Come on, Melas. You’re the same, right?

To show you how far off base I was, I was thinking that it likely had something to do with living in the country. I tried that, but I'm a city boy. Surely there is a better moniker than country-class. The meaning is not clear. I never would have derived what you posted from the name.

Oh for crying out loud......being a Congress Critter is hardly anything worth a damn, when it comes to running for or being president. As a matter of fact, it has been a decided detriment!
