Palin, I knew Reagan. You're no Reagan.
CNN ^ | 12/1/10 | Ed Rollins

Posted on 12/01/2010 12:06:59 PM PST by pissant

Editor's note: Ed Rollins, a senior political contributor for CNN, is senior presidential fellow at the Kalikow Center for the Study of the American Presidency at Hofstra University. He is a principal with the Dilenschneider Group, a global public relations firm. He was White House political director for President Ronald Reagan and chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

(CNN) -- The first date is over. Not much happened. President Obama and his new governing partners, the House and Senate Republicans, met at the White House along with the Democratic leaders and discussed the unsolvable issues between them.

Even though they made no decisions and both sides went their separate ways, they agreed to start negotiations on extending the tax cuts. That in itself is the beginning of a positive process. They actually talked to each other and talked of a plan for action.

As with real dating, both sides have to get along or nothing will happen. So maybe this situation has more in common with an arranged marriage.

The American voters are the substitute parents, and they want this marriage to work or at least to be civil. And we, the voters, hold the shotgun.

She isn’t a serious person and not someone who has succeeded in life.

I'm no politicians disciple but this statement just silly.

Palin is not the second coming but c'mon, she was a governor & VPOTUS candidate for cryin out loud.

And she has the left not knowing whether to crap or wind their watch.

Don’t worry dude. After she wins you can analyze how it happened...

I think you’ll find the ‘shallowness’ resides on the side of all those establishment elites who are afraid of the girl.

LOL

This is really getting fun.

"Ed, I hear Ross Perot calling..................."

Hate to say it, but looking back on it, Ross Perot turned out to be right on a whole lot of things. Sure, he was a crazy eccentric, but he was a remarkably prescient crazy eccentric.

That is pure BS. Who in the hell are you to say that a woman of her stature is not well accomplished.

Were you ever a great enough person to be the executive of a state and be a frontrunner for the GOP nomination for President of the United States ?

you are nobody. and this is NOT your generation of conservatism. it is ours.

"I'm supporting her just to make liberals' heads explode!!!!!"

Not only the liberals, but the Country club blue blood ruling class elitist Republicans. To hell with all of 'em. What Sarah needs to keep doing is go over, under, around, and behind the back of not only the establishment, she needs to bypass the media as well... and she's doing that. She'll keep winning hearts and minds and be very difficult to beat.

Really? Being a BabyMama, feminist and having a kid have a kid out of wedlock is a conservatism? That’s how low Palin’s worshippers have fallen since she has an “R” beside her name. She is not a conservative. Someone who endorses Title IX and agrees with the privacy view of the Roe ruling isn’t a conservative.

What does someone who writes for CNN know about politics?

She isn’t a serious person and not someone who has succeeded in life.

Huh? Youngest elected governor in Alaska in addition to being the first woman elected to that position. One who had an 88% approval rating before having her governorship interrupted by being picked for Veep. She's accomplished more by 47 than most people do in their entire life.

Citycouncilman, Mayor, Gas Regulator, Governor, VP Nominee; yup hasn't accomplished anything or done anything serious. LOL

A description, with modification, that I read in another story might fit old Ed. Ed Rollins: ‘The bullet train of political suck.’

Actually, it’s not just liberals, it’s blue-blood (or country club or elitist take your pick) people are voting against. Because people are just damn sick of business as usual. And there’s substance and guts behind her. While the rest of the “potential” pack stick their fingers in the air to see what direction the political wind is blowing. I want a fighter with strong American values who has the balls to fight for the constitution. As soon as some of these good old boys grow a pair maybe they can sit at the adult table too.

"Ed Rollins - just another establishment, ruling class, blue-blood, country club Republican. "

Right, which is exactly why he was the Perot campaign manager. /s

You need a history lesson. I'd start with NAFTA - primarily who opposed it and who supported it. Get back to me on where the "establishment, ruling class, blue-blood, country club Republican" came down on that issue.

You state selected generalizations sprinkled in with some facts, confuse the timeline, tortuously twist the interpretation, and come up with an unsubstantiated opinion.

If I’m “embarassing” myself, you justr pissed all over yourself in front of the entire Free Republic community.

Go change your underwear.
