Since the Clintons took over the White House in 1993, the security process went into the dumpster and never came out. It was as if the floodgates had opened. (See Gary Aldrichs take on this in Unlimited Access)
There was a time being an open homosexual was not only a disqualifier for any kind of security clearance, you would have been ejected from the military without much preamble.
In those days of yore, the FBI would actually go out in the field and interview everyone you put on references, and their friends as well. What Clinton changed was the field work - since then, the FBI only calls the people you put down to verify you have some connection to who you claim to be — in short, they operate exactly like the “drive by media.”
FBI: Hello. Are you Bob Jones?
“Bob Jones”: Yep.
FBI: Do you know Bradley Manning who is in the US Army (branch).
“Bob Jones”: Yep.
FBI: Thanks for you cooperation. Good by.

FBI Security Clearance Report on Bradley Manning:
On the basis our 5 minute background check, we deem a TS-CW clearance to Bradley Manning is warranted. Cleared to work as Signals Analyst for US Army (branch). Clearance granted: Top Secret Code Word.
I didn’t like that part either.
I believe that was the work of Shinseki, an affirmative action hire of Clinton. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Dr. Bogus,
Leave it to FR as the place to run across someone of such highly unique training, experience and knowledge. . . I am speechless!!!! Forgive me . . . the thought is intriquing, but I don’t think I have the stomach to observe Meta-Proctology in practice!! But I will extend a hearty boot to the Rear Admiral as well!!! Thank you for your service to our country!!!
Sickening, isn’t it? My dad was a 30 year naval officer, and was the communications and security officer at the Yokosuka Naval base in Japan when the USS Pueblo was captured by the North Koreans. I know that having a job like that required a significant security clearance, that goes without saying.
I asked my dad about that one time, and he told me when he was a young naval officer they actually sent somebody to his hometown to interview people that he knew when he was being evaluated for high-level security clearance.
Back in the 50’s and 60’s when my career Army Airborne dad was serving, the only people who wore berets were Special Forces, a very elite and small group of our military. They weren’t even called “green berets” then which I think is a stupid name. Special Forces is better.
While a pretty accurate rendition, you forgot one phrase, which says "in harmony," and goes between 'restaurant' and 'they'll'...
the infowarrior
Say Ann, how’s that GOProud group goin’ for ya?
I remember that - was quite a hubbub at NSA then. I was just a trainee at the time, but I remember all the scurrying, whispering in the halls, certain notes on cork boards in our classrooms.
When I got into the field some months later, I learned that our reporting had begun to deteriorate as the war had progressed. Emphasis had changed from best/most accurate info to making sure all the correct forms were filled out. The intel was becoming an afterthought.
It seemed to me that the policy of rotating high ranking non-coms and junior officers from Nam into units doing non-Nam collection was the culprit. It was all about them looking good to advance their careers.
She sure does know how to write an entertaining column.
My mom had mentioned to me once that CDR Bucher was one of my dad’s drinking buddies when he was in port...what a terrible thing that whole episode was. We should have gone to war over that...it was armed piracy, pure and simple. I still think we should take at least five MK84 JDAM’s and drop them on the poor Pueblo out of the blue, just to put her to rest.
Interesting observation on the progression of intel...and Powerpoint wasn’t even invented yet...
Geez, he looks like Howdy Doody.
LOL!
“Doesn’t she have a great sense of humor?”
That she does. Too bad she’s a fag hag.
For liberals, gays in the military is a win-win proposition. Either gays in the military works, or it wrecks the military, both of which outcomes they enthusiastically support.
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.
Who would have thought that homosexuals in the armed forces could cause any difficulty?
// sarc off
A completely unsubstantiated comment that comes from total ignorance.
Maybe you mean Joseph Farah who condemned Coulter for agreeing to speak to a homo org (where she made it clear to the homos that she does not support their agenda and did her best to talk them out of gay marriage), fired her from speaking at his event (which she was not even hired to do) then he cuddled up to the homos and had them attend his event (therefore giving them legitimacy) so there you go.
You support of the homosexual agenda by proxy is duly noted.
Say vox, hows that Log Cabin group goin for ya?
Hey Syncro,
I totally disagree with the Log Cabin perverts and GOProud and their faux "conservative" agendas. How about you?
