The Bush tax cuts for the so-called middle class are a given

They may not be if the Repubs stick to their guns on not allowing them to be separated from the rich and Obama figures out a way to outsmart them by putting the blame for not passing a bill at their feet.

However, I don't think he's going to be able to do it. He is not crafty enough and is acting too impetuously IMO. We're going to see that the so-called smartest man in the world is a bumbler in a whole lot of areas. I believe Kyl is going to play this one better.

Yup. A treaty with the implications of START should be considered important enough to be necessary for the Senate to ratify for the good of the nation—and solely on that basis alone—not used as a tool of bribery.

AZ is on the federal hit list. Your election law should have stood valid and should have been strictly enforced. I will always think that Kelly and McClung won were only the legitimate votes counted. Grijilva’s anti-American and she’s no Blue Dog. Kelly had her, so it must have been fraud there, also.

No Deals! I want gridlock!

I don’t understand why the dems always seem to be on the same page with talking points and a well defined strategy that leads to their wacked out utopia ... but most of our guys bumble around like a bunch of puppies chasing their tails. Why is that?

If I was a GOP consultant the first thing I’d do is lay out talking points, get everyone on the same page, and create plan A and plan B and plan C if that doesn’t work to get America back on track. What gives?

The House is going to hold the vote for the middle class separately and McCain told Greta the GOP is not going to play that game. The GOP is willing to go into January.

That's why I believe the middle class cuts are not a given though I think passage is probable.

It is possible that the middle class cuts could end up in the gutter...and Obama will be blamed IMO. Though that's exactly what this chess game is about right now and what Obama is testing...who will be blamed. He's not sure how far he should go.

I have no doubt fraud was involved, but I think the GOP in AZ is only growing stronger with Obama fighting us like he is, so it will keep out token Democrats a little more in line than before.

Just got back and have LOTS to do tomorrow. However, I will make the time to call Kyl’s office and McCain’s. Kyl better not cave in. No deals, no caves...

All 42 signed that letter, so why talk to the lamestream?

I like your idea. They all need talking points or they need to shut up!

This current Congress was rejected at the polls. The Senate GOP should simply shut things down for the remainder of this year. It will not work against them, but making deals with the Dem devils will.

Hmmm... Sacrifice our defense for a temporary extension in money. I can’t believe I’d be the only one that thinks that’s a bad deal. START shouldn’t be on the table at all for consideration of a temporary extension of reduced taxes.

Less money or less defense? Is that really the option here?

Kyl should be asking Obama Justice Dept and his frontgroups to drop the lawsuits against Arizona and the States who are fighting the individual mandates and to admit he lied about both along with the budget and tax issues.

Otherwise he should say no START, no DADT, No Amnesty votes.

Senator Kyl is doing what the pompous patricians do in the Senate — pander and cut deals to sell America down the tubes, He and a whole bunch of other gutless ‘pubbies cannot wait to demonstrate their “bipartisanship” in the pages of the NYT, LAT, WaPo, etc.
