Military members who have a problem with a change in policy to allow gays to serve openly may find themselves looking for a new job, Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, warned Thursday.

Mullen told a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing that the military is based on meritocracy, "what you do, not who you are." He said if Congress changes the don't ask, don't tell policy then the U.S. military will comply.

Meritocracy based on gender and race.

Ask any military member who served during bubba terms in office.

"what you do, not who you are."

One defines the other.

Anyone who doesn’t wish to join Hitler’s Schutzstaffel may seek out other work...

Congress can do whatever they want. Infantry units wil salute and say Yes Sir. But, these guys know how to deal with gays in combat units.

Mike Mullen, the first CJS in the history of the Joint Chiefs, to NOT wear the Combat Action Ribbon, or its Army/AF equivalent.

What more do you need to know about Mullen?

Interesting that a Executive Order was used for integration.

I never understood why that was never challenged by Congress, for they have the only numerated powers for the rules and regulations of the military.

I dunno if Obama would create a EO for gays.

The military was destroyed the moment the idiot population elected a foreign enemy into the executive branch.

As long as we have these 50 millions worthless numbskulls, there is absolutely no hope for this nation.

how can he separate “what” a warrior is with his/her actions? He is in la la land... someone who has different values/standards/ethics/and most important, LOYALTIES, is not going to be a good warrior! look at the he/she Manning... what was “its” loyalties? the welfare of the troops? NO! the welfare of the homos? YES!

“what you do, not who you are.”

Who you are determines what you do. It’s a character thing.

Mullen will come to regret that statement. A lot of troops ARE going to walk as a result of this.

Long gone are the days when senior military leaders actually stood strongly for what was best for the Armed Forces.

Cue up the Village People

Where can you find pleasure
Search the world for treasure
Learn science technology
Where can you begin to make your dreams all come true
On the land or on the sea
Where can you learn to fly
Play in sports and skin dive
Study oceanography
Sign up for the big band
Or sit in the grandstand
When your team and others meet

In the navy
Yes, you can sail the seven seas
In the navy
Yes, you can put your mind at ease
In the navy
Come on now, people, make a stand
In the navy, in the navy
Can’t you see we need a hand
In the navy
Come on, protect the motherland
In the navy
Come on and join your fellow man
In the navy
Come on people, and make a stand
In the navy, in the navy, in the navy (in the navy)

With the proposition of allowing alien invaders to become citizens if they sign up and inclusion of gays and women well er, perhaps the real warriors SHOULD transfer to other occupations. There is nothing right about all of this.

Well Admiral Mullin good luck with that!

Survey results say that up to 24% of troops will not stay. Since those most opposed are the combat arms, if 10% walked, that would mean that 250,000 troops leave, that is more than the entire Marine Corps!

What is so disgusting is that Gates in retiring and Mullins will serve out his term and be done as well. Both will walk away never having to face the consequences of their actions!!!
