Quick facts about the Bush tax cuts for the “rich”

Did you know that on January 1, 2011 the personal income tax rate for the lowest tax bracket will rise 50% from 10% to 15%?

Did you know that on January 1, 2011 the personal income tax rate for the next highest bracket - 25% - will rise to 28%?

Did you know that on January 1, 2011 the personal income tax rate that is now 28% will rise to 31%?

Just who’s raising these taxes? That would be the Democrats by allowing the Bush tax cuts for the “rich” expire on December 31, 2010. If Bush only cut taxes for the rich, where did the 10%, 25%, and 28% tax rates come from? It seems to me there aren’t many “rich” people in the lowest tax bracket.

And btw, the marriage penalty will be making a much-heralded liberal comeback along with a rise in the capital gains rate (you know, the one for the 100 million “rich” people who own stock) from 15% to 20%.

Does it just need a simple majority in the Senate?? That’s a clue!!

That is actually a good idea. He is seriously going to have to do something to control the masses. I think he can do it but he is going to have to be stronger than he is. If you compare him and pelosi (I know we hate her), but she is a take no prisoner type and he needs to adopt some of that. I think he puts his personal feelings ahead of what is right (sometimes). She doesn’t give a sh!t what people think of her.....he needs that big time.

On the bright side, it may reduce the demand for gay marriage, IMO, the real and unspoken reason for that demand having so much visibility in the past few years.

The Bush cuts weren't only for the rich...

My point is that the Dems insisted that they were. They knew all along that everybody got a cut in their tax rates.

Let me be the first to predict the headlines in tomorrow's New York Times:

188 Republicans Vote for Tax Increases on the Middle Class.

My wife and I have a small business with 2 employees. Since we are a LLC and have a little over 250k in sales one of our employees will be fired before the end of the month and the other will be cut to 30 hours a week.

One of them was Ron Paul. I can’t WAIT to hear the Paulestinians’ justification for that vote.

Hang the stupid commie bastards high, string up Pelosi the highest.

Until the GOP starts calling these people what they are, MARXISTS, they will continue to steal more and more money from the productive class without fear of retribution.

What the marxists who call themselves democrats are doing is not legislation, it’s criminal activity

Yeah, for the last 9.5 years all I heard was that the Bush Tax Cuts were only for folks like Donald Trump, etc.

House Republican leader John Boehner pulls no punches as he describes the Democratic maneuvering on a bill to make middle-class tax cuts permanent as ‘chicken crap.

I say calling it "crap" instead of $#!+ qualifies as pulling THAT punch, anyway.

Why is this Boehner’s fault?

No, they did not pass middle class tax cuts.

There is no cutting; they simply had a choice to raise taxes or not. NOBODY is having their tax cut next year compared to this year.

The result of all of this is
1. no increase in taxes for some people
2. a large rise in taxes for some people
3. NET EFFECT: tax increases during a recession
4. dependable tax-loving dems

Boehner and friends: we want a FLAT tax. The kind that everybody has to pay on their income. No more loopies and offshores and Swiss Bank accts.

Paid by Everybody.

Either that or do away with all taxes based on income and just have a consumption tax.
