There are pictures of nearly identical contrails on other days and we have people on this thread saying they saw this one and the others. So everything you just said was nonsense.

Sorry, Tolsti2, you are the one pushing nonsense.

There are no pictures of truly IDENTICAL contrails on other days. And those supposed anti-missile people are WHO precisely? Do they use their real names? Bet not.

Tolsti2 has not created an about page. Begun April 1, 2009

So you have no real identity, and no real history here, only popping up after Obama...

The missile trail is so dense that where the wind sheared it (down low near the launch point) it produced a stripe that is more dense than any airliner trail I’ve ever seen.

That shearing, in fact, proves that it is a vertical missile trail, rather than a horizontal trail such as an airliner would make.

Just simple meteorology there.

No two are *identical*. They’re very close though, if you bother to look.

How can you be so wrong about something so simple and common? The sheering is due to high altitude winds. That’s all it is. It’s been proven over and over again on here, but some people refuse to get it.

After that, insult how long they’ve been registered.. One side has evidence and multiple images of other contrails and we even know what plane this was. The other side has a 10 second edited clip that still looks just like a contrail.

Nice going guys.

Your total lack of knowledge, coupled with your gullible penchant for repeating what other total ignoramuses spout make you the fool of the month.

High altitude shearing of a contrail would rapidly erase the entire trail, fading it like a sheet, not a dense stripe.

I meant to add that the distance from L.A. was estimated to be 35 miles, which, coincidentally, is the exact same distance the horizon is when one is at sea-level.

Well, not exactly.

Where is the Horizon?

Note that for E=0 (eyes at sea level) the observer is at the horizon, and for someone who is 6 feet tall the horizon is 3 miles away. That same six-footer will continue to see a 40-foot tall boat until it’s about 11 miles away.

Unlike most here, I saw it with my own eyes. How about you?

The article has some serious factual deficiencies.

"The question that still must be answered is why NORAD's muted response was simply that North America was not threatened…"
NORAD actually said:

“We can confirm that there is no threat to our nation, and from all indications this was not a launch by a foreign military."

"Indeed, the Federal Aviation Administration documents that there were no aircraft flying in the area at that time, the night of Nov. 8."
Like to see those documents, because the statement is false. At least one plane was in the area at that time.

I saw it in person on Monday night. On Tuesday night, there was another one in the exact same spot in the sky at the exact same time as Monday nights.

Driving to work this morning, I saw a bunch of missiles being launched from somewhere near Kansas. Damned if one of them wasn't air-launched.

Oh, those brazen Chinese..... how'd they get a submarine all the way over to the Colorado prairie?

"There were a lot of Freepers who were so SURE it was a contrail, berating anyone who thought otherwise. Yep, and they're still at it, although most of them admit that they've never actually seen a missile launch themselves. (Interestingly, the bulk of FReepers who've watched missiles launches and who've posted to the threads, say outright it was a missile. You can read the posts on the many threads over the past three weeks -- I have). One of the most prolific pushers of the airline contrail nonsense, Rokke, had gone for 21 months on Free Republic without making one, solitary post -- his most recent was on Feb. 13, 2009. Then on Nov. 11, 2010, two days after CBS shows the Leyvas footage, he went into overdrive. Since then, to date, he has made 52 posts to Free Republic, every one of them on the missile threads. Quite a lot of them have all kinds of pictures and graphs and arrows and calculations and comparison shots of all kinds of hooptidoodle, ANYTHING TO DISTRACT PEOPLE from the video by Gil Leyvas that started it all. That's right. One of the noisiest and most desperate proponents of the airline contrail hoax ... Silence for nearly two years ... and then all the sudden more than 50 posts on one subject in three weeks. Smells like a guy with an agenda, to me."

You sure get a lot of things wrong. This post of yours is no different. I've got 15 years flying fighters including several combat tours, fly the MD-11 for FedEx and am currently back on long term military orders, so I avoid posting on FR for Hatch Act issues (most of the threads on FR are political in nature). It is safe to say I have probably spent more time in my life creating giant contrails and dodging missiles than you've spent dreaming up conspiracy fantasies.

Of the countless threads on FR about this incident, I've posted 98% of my 50+ comments on one of them. If that makes me the most prolific poster, where do I collect my prize.

And in this post #492 in that thread, I specifically addressed you and only you about nothing but the Leyvas video. You declined to respond. And still haven't. As I've said before though...keep posting. You are the worst advocate for the missile theory out there. Keep it up.

Did you happen to see the Black Brant IX launch from San Nicolas Island in the 2nd half of October?

The Leyvas video is the same 12-15 cut and repeated. The station hasn’t released the full video.

And the station has been mute since then.

This looks like an attempt at a hoax by KCBS.

Nice work actually documenting the phenomenon.

It would be very nice if as much efffort was put into documenting the proof for the missle hypothesis.

Don’t tell Finny that (or any of the “experts” who based their opinion on viewing that clip). Her entire conspiracy rests on that video.
