The crocodile is uninteresting. Dig into Manning, and the MIT people who helped him. Manning's MIT people have been carefully kept out of the light, and even made some pretty threatening noises to keep it that way.
His MOS defined what security clearance he had and that clearance got him thru the front door. Once inside he must have done a lot of snooping around to find what he did.
OR, he could have provided an outside source his computer pass codes thereby "opening the door" and allowing them free access to the network. I don't think the PFC had enough computer smarts to find all the information that ended up in WikiLeaks posession, that was most likely done by a WikiLeaks tech expert who was smart enought to be able to navigate the network without being discovered.........
