U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel was greeted with a standing ovation Saturday at a town hall meeting in Harlem two days after he was censured by by the House.

"I am very pleased this is behind me," Rangel, who looked dapper in a dark suit and tie, told cheering supporters after a two-year ethics probe.

Insisting that his colleagues were bowing to political pressure, Rangel remained defiant and confident, saying he was "not guilty of corruption or self-enrichment."

Yeah, I guess I do remember the pictures of JC Watt, Condie Rice, (newly elected) Tim Scott and Clarence Thomas whooping it up with joy when OJ got away with murder.

If you don’t mean ALL of “them”, then make yourself clear. I live in a part of the country where conservatives are “profiled” as racist. You give ammunition to people who bash conservatives on the head with this crap and successfully muddle the argument to stupid side crap!

Liberals make a huge deal over race. I’m a “content of character” type.

"Rangel is an avowed admirer of the former Cuban President Fidel Castro. In April 1993, the congressman introduced legislation to repeal the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992, which ended U.S. assistance to the Castro government, and to lift the American embargo against Cuba. When Castro toured Harlem in October of 1995, Rangel greeted him with a bear hug at an event in a local church, where the congressman joined in a prolonged standing ovation for the visiting dictator."

The supporters and enablers of evil men are just as guilty as the evil men.
Well said.

Rangel represents a cesspool of welfare socialist bloodsuckers. The more criminal the behavior, the more they like him.

The most hypocritical of his actions was to take four rent controlled apartments for his own personal use and defeat the purpose of helping his low income constituents.

On many levels - first the stupidity of rent control which created huge wasteland ghettos like the South Bronx. Second - it was a delusion of the Democratic party in line with their helping the poor at the expense of this rich, it failed at both, especially when the rich benefited from it. Third - the greed of Rangel compels him to then use this stupid and awful device his party created to enrich himself. Frankly - it is a perfect example of why America has voted these bums out. It’s Franklin Raines and Freddie and Fannie and the 3 trillion grab bag all over again. These freaks come up with these proposals that really damage the country and then use them to enrich themselves. They are economically naive, but not naive enough because they know how to steal from the stupid programs they created.

The photo came from a local college. They just had a write up about the pic being displayed in the Newseum in D.C.

As you said, pretty telling picture.

Yay! He’s number one-in corruption. Guess that makes him a true home-boy in their eyes.

BTW-How’s employment in Harlem? Never mind, you got corruptocrats to vote for! As long as you get your handout it doesn’t matter.

Yay! He’s number one-in corruption.

He's not even close.

I bet you he's not in the top 75%.

The only thing missing from the OJ verdict reaction was the sound of AK47’s being fired into the air and shouts of “Death to America!”

You are correct.

This is strictly ‘IN YOUR FACE’ tactics.

He may be a crook/murderer/slime etc etc but he is OURS and by gum you ‘outsiders’ ain’t gonna tell us who to vote for.

Nothing new, the Irish ‘protected’ the Irish, the Italians ‘protected’ the Italians, the Jews protected the Jews etc etc.

And now, as then, those of the ethnic group that ‘wandered off the reservation’ were ostracized by the majority.

________

I will certainly refrain. And am pleased you decided to refer to “us”, because when I address some who do not mind if they are seen as racists, I am not addressing all conservatives, but a fraction.

I believe that the central majority of every group, blacks, Latinos, left-handed basket weavers, any “group” you want to define are, at heart, conservative. The silent majority of mankind is pro-life, pro-freedom, pro-responsibility. Conservatism is the natural order of mankind.

If some decide to cast away giant chunks of the population by asessing the majority by the ill behavior of a loud minority, then you are making a mistake.

Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Jim Moran, Harry Reid, and on and on. It’s not because he’s black, it’s because he’s a democrat.

You are a typical liberal troll.

It's funny how you promise to cease your smug, self-important lecturing. Then what do you do? You give us another smug, self-important lecturing on how superior you are and how bad we are.

Your self-appointed moral superiority act smells and is boring. Go back to DU.
