Sometimes we have to be reminded just how disgusting some of our fellow humans can be.
Kathy Griffin is Bill Maher in drag. Have they ever been seen in the same room? I’m convinced they are the same vile, unfunny, evil person.
My neighbor raises emus. And frankly, I’d rather have them for neighbors than Kathy Griffin.
Agreed...the USO really needs to be held accountable for booking “acts” like Griffin to perform for the troops. Most of the entertainers who go downrange do a tremendous job, but Griffin is vile and despicable—just about the last person I’d want to see if I were serving in the war zone. The audience’s reaction to the Bristol Palin joke (and I use that term advisedly) should have been a red flag to the USO; the troops don’t want anyone like Griffin entertaining them.
The next time the USO hits them you up for a donation, tell them you won’t contribute another dime until they stop booking people like Kathy Griffin. Or better yet, contribute directly to your local USO chapter, instead of the national organization. The folks who are manning the centers at military bases and airports still do a great job and don’t need to suffer because of booking mistakes made by the national leadership.
The funniest comedian I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen a bunch of ‘em) is Brian Regan. Not a breath of vulgarity. Decent and likeable and a great class act!
Paramore, a punk rock band, was the only overseas entertainment. They filmed their show in Kuwait and although most of the troops had probably never heard of them before, they all looked happy to be there.
I hope the USO will consider getting someone else to host the event next time because Griffin was not entertaining.
