Press Releases Contact: Brendan Daly/Nadeam Elshami Drew Hammill/202-226-7616 For Immediate Release 12/07/2010 Pelosi Statement on President Obama’s Tax Proposal

Washington, D.C. — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement today on President Obama’s tax proposal:

“The tax proposal announced by the President clearly presents the differences between Democrats and Republicans. Any provision must be judged by two criteria: does it create jobs to grow our economy and does it add to the deficit?

“The Democratic provisions will create jobs and help 155 million workers through tax cuts for the middle class, helping working families who are struggling and growing the economy.

“The Republican demands would provide tax cuts to the millionaires and billionaires, fail to create jobs and increase the deficit. And to add insult to injury, the Republican estate tax proposal would help only 39,000 of America’s richest families, while adding about $25 billion more to the deficit.

“Republicans have held the middle class hostage for provisions that benefit only the wealthiest 3 percent, do not create jobs, and add tens of billions of dollars to the deficit.

“We will continue discussions with the President and our Caucus in the days ahead. Democratic priorities remain clear: to provide a tax cut for working families, to promote policies that produce jobs and economic growth, and to assist millions of our fellow Americans who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.”

The GOOD news is that this tax battle will tie up congress and run out the clock on the rest of obama’s lame-duck agenda of START, etc

As is typical, the dems think that if they stir up their 20% base over class warfare, that is will somehow give them a winning strategy in 2012

Did she ask this question on Healthcare? Did she listen to the answer?

Take your broom and shove it, you crone. I will be giving a standing ovation when that gavel is pried from her fingers on live TV in January.

The Democrats have controlled Congress for 4 years. Only NOW do they start to worry about ‘job creation’.

...while adding about $25 billion more to the deficit...

Not quite, moonbat-Nancy. Once again your math fails you. What it does is prevent you and your Pashtun dancing boy (Obama) from stealing $25 billion from those who have earned it and spending it as you wish.

Funny this whole debate, that I think on balance the Republicans won, shows it is not about revenue, more jobs, etc. It’s part some sophomoric pissing contest and part some sick need to punish and control the capital and lively-hood of a segment of the American populace. Obama himself in a candid moment before 2008 was pointed out to an interviewer that during Reagan tax rates dropped and revenues rose, what was Obama’s response..”Well it’s not about simply revenue, it’s about basic fairness.” Kind of like when your brother got grounded for driving Dad’s car and you threw a fit when Dad let him off restriction early for cleaning the garage. That hate that boiled up in you that someone else was getting something more than you. Like the brother of the prodigal son. That is why the DUers are going nuts, they feel that hate percolating up, that somehow some of us will feel a scintilla of hope and have a dime more to spend on our families. Oh and OBama just lost the 2012 election, put a fork in the Magic Negro, he’s done

It could happen. Take no action and let the tax cuts die on 1-1-11.

Just go home for the Christmas recess. Screw America.

What sort of magic accounting logic allows you to claim that tax cuts to one class will only create jobs while tax cuts to a diffent class will only increase the deficit?
