Austrian convicted for yacht sale to North Korean leader

VIENNA | Tue Dec 7, 2010 8:20am EST

VIENNA (Reuters) - A Vienna court has fined an Austrian man 3.3 million euros ($4.4 million) over the sale of luxury goods, including yachts, believed destined for North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il, a court official said Tuesday.

The businessman, who was not named, was also handed a nine-month suspended sentence late Monday for the dealings which violate an international trade embargo against Kim's impoverished state, court official Christian Gneist said.

"The amount was 3.3 million euros because this was the amount he received as payment," Gneist said. The trade violated U.N. sanctions against North Korea imposed over its nuclear bomb tests.

Probably North-Korean-printed American dollars used in the transaction

National Geographic did a documentary on North Korea, watched it last night on Netflix. An American reporter got into NOK under the auspices of filming medical work.

I recommend it, learned a lot about NOK. Talk about brainwashed lemmings! The “Great Leader” has god-like status. Of course if a person says anything negative, they and their entire family are shipped off to a work/concentration camp. There was an interview with a camp guard who defected, pretty damning stuff - people being shot for scavenging for food, etc.

Needs to be shown to all of our children - and our childish adults.

From the Wikileaks, it’s obvious that a certain part of the Chinese government wants Nk to act as it does. The PRC has signed off on every nuclear weapons proliferation agreement offered by the UN over the last 25 years, yet NK’s recently reveled uranium centrifuges and laboratories could have come from only Red China.

China has been playing the NOK card for years. China may be realizing that they have a “loose cannon” on their border which could potentially upset their foreign trade. I wouldn’t be surprised to see China cut NOK loose.

Not just NK.
The blueprints for the Pakistani bomb have been traced to the official policy of the Chinese government. We are saps to believe anything they say.
