Pinky Reid showing his true colors again? Stealthily supporting anti-gun zealot Andrew F. Traver to head BATFE?

I've been out of town for the big SAR show in Phoenix, so when I got back I wanted to catch up on what's going on with congress. Not too happy with what I've found!

It seems Pinky has NOT made any real effort to ensure the Traver nomination is voted on before congress adjourns.

This is typical of him and how he creates one impression with the media while actually working to another purpose.

He will let Traver become a recess appointment, then continue to claim that he "really does" support our RKBA.

If anyone complains he will deny all responsibility, probably blaming the republicans for time "running out".

Readers here might remember that one of the claims for allowing Dingy to remain in office was that he is SENATE MAJORITY LEADER, and a (claimed) supporter of our RKBA. IF he TRULY wanted Traver's nomination to be scheduled and voted on it would be.

I checked with Pinky's office, they could not give me a direct answer. The D.C. office insisted they did not know, and transferred me to a busy signal. The local Carson City office promised to send me a written response, which I expect to get several days after the question is moot.

We can let Dingy slide on this, or we can demand that he actually make more than a token effort to REPRESENT US on this!

Following up today, I have confirmed that the Travers confirmation hearing still has not been scheduled.

Reid’s office is still claiming “Not enough time”.

It should only take a few minutes to eliminate this nut from consideration.
Looks like Pinky is intent on getting his revenge for NRA not endorsing him, and the other RKBA groups opposing him.

Real classy guy, NOT!

Some people might think Stinky Reid is a friend of the NRA, he is not.
Some think NRA is a friend of his, also not really true.

Both take anyone to the party who they think can help at the moment, no real loyalty on either part.

Reid is only loyal to Reid, no one else really matters, certainly not his mere constituents or our constitution!

If you meant me, I’ve grown a bit cynical regards NRA over the last few years.

Friend of the NRA?

A few months ago several FReepers put forth the theory if Reid lost and the democrats remained in the majority then Schumer would become Majority Leader. Theoretically, Reid is much less of a gun grabber than Chuckie, so a Reid win was actually a win for the second ammendment.

Just pointing out why NRA lost points with many of us with the whole Reid affair.
