India's ambassador to US has been pulled from an airport security line and frisked by a security agent in Mississippi, it has emerged. The hands-on search took place last week even after Meera Shankar's diplomatic status was revealed. Some reports said Ms Shankar, who was on her way from a conference, was singled out because she was wearing a sari. The Indian embassy in Washington has strongly protested about the incident.

Still, it calls into question the whole idiotic TSA regime that the agency puts the American flying public through every day. Is it OK to grope and molest innocent travelers, including women and children, but not high level diplomatic officials from allied countries?
One would have to look long, hard (and unsuccessfully) to find a group of sub-humans as incompetent, idiotic, and clueless as the current crop of Obamaloons infesting our government.

This might be an opportunity to extradite a TSA agent to India to answer the charges there. Diplomatic immunity is treaty law and is above the Constitution.

I would not have thought to phrase it that way. Is that considered accurate? I consider the hierarchy to run from God to the Constitution to anything else (such as treaty law).

Unfortunately, yes. The only way to legally give diplomatic immunity is to make the person not subject to, and superior to, the Constitution.
The person afforded diplomatic immunity must be able to trump Constitutional law (for example, a police officer's right to investigate and detain with probable cause) and to trump Constitutional rights guaranteed to all other people within the borders and territories of the United States, (for example, their rights to life or freedom of speech).
To accomplish this, diplomatic immunity must be placed above the Constitution, and the only way to do that, according to the Constitution, is Treaty Law that cannot be reviewed by SCOTUS.
Being as diplomats almost always are representative nationals of other nations, these treaties are quick, easy, standard and managed by administrative bureaucracy, and DI is extended and revoked on a case by case basis. Generally those individuals that abuse DI have it revoked and are required to go home by both governments. This is accomplished by modifying the treaty between those governments, but while ya got it, ya got it! TSA dosen't and the Indian gal does.
