Nothing you said conflicts with what I said.
“...we trained the sharks to attack tourists in Egypt...”

Dang, I hadn’t heard about that one!
“A worm could be used to sabotage a drilling operation or other industrial equipment.”
“Could” Nothing but conjecture. No link the Stuxnet. No nothing. Reindeers “could” have flown up the drillers ass and distracted him.
“The Cameron wellhead supposedly malfunctioned because it had been modified by one of the multiple companies involved in the operation.”
It’s not a wellhead. Its a BOP. And it had the wrong gasket in it.
You just KNOW it was a Zionist shark..... it ate a German tourist.
Are you trying to say that Julian baby would be pooping his Pants?
It had 4 Zero days in it and was tuned for the speeds that centrifuge drives run at. And specifically targeted at the kind of drives the Iranians were running
Students didn’t do this
Maybe some code writer left a clever back door open.

“Eletrical utilities have talked about sending internet and Tv over power lines. It can be done. I wonder if the worm could have been interduced through the electricity.”
I don’t think it would be that easy, while electrical wires can carry a signal, every transformer along the way is a road block. To send internet over the power grid requires a rebroadcaster at every transformer along the way to send the signal along the next stretch of wire. To send the signal, they would need the broadcaster to be on the same transformer as the receiver. In addition, the receiver would need to have one connection to the power and another connection to a computer inside the network.
It would require much less work and be much less obvious to just plug a thumb drive into a computer.
As a side note, I use a power line Ethernet adapter to get internet to an upper room that was inconvenient to wire. Plug one in to an outlet next to the router, connect it to the router, Plug another module into the wall where you want network access and you have a live Ethernet connection, pretty slick.
Perhaps I should have said citizens of Iran that support the student movement. I could see a link between the university students and educated Iranians( some who work in the reactors) that support their position. While I offered one theory, it’s possible that the Israeli or even the Chinese were behind it.
Why would a Dept. of Defense computer terminal with potential access to a mountain of classified data be equipped with a CD-R/W drive?
I would outsource IT to people who know what they are doing.
Those powerline adapters are a slick way to deal with wireless deadspots in a house for sure.
And every generation they are getting better and better
We have allowed our capacity to conduct clandestine operations erode. And we can’t keep a secret. That is no slam on the Mossad.
Why are these computer virus companies allowed to help Iran deal with the problem?
I went back and reread your post.
Now I see what you were saying. I was reading something in to your words that wasn’t there, thinking you meant the worm infected and crashed all Iranian home computers.
Instead you were explaining how it got from the infected workplaces, and onto home computers, where it silently reproduced itself until it was found by someone on the internet.
Good thinking. Seems very logical.
In fairness, I think you have to read my posts with a thick accent to undestand.
Half the time I don’t think I write what I mean. I understand American English definitions well. Connotations of words is too subtle for me.
Thanks for the reply. BTW, I spent my formative years in Albuquerque. Eat some green chili for me. ;^)
“I wonder if the worm could have been interduced through the electricity.”
Yup, like in Superhuman Samurai syber-squad.
FYI, it is a pretty smart worm, its just not That smart. Sometimes the truth is simpler and more elegant than some of the fantastic possibilities you mention. There is an absurd amount of information on Stuxnet’s MO. The wiki is a good place to start.
