Planned Parenthood Uses “Choice on Earth” Theme for Fundraising Email
Life News ^ | 12/9/10 | Steven Ertelt

The national Planned Parenthood abortion business is at it again, using a sacrilegious Christmas theme to raise money for its efforts to promote and perform abortions.

Although the organization is not selling its much-maligned Christmas cards bearing the same theme, Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Cecile Richards sent out a fundraising email yesterday to her supporters with a headline image bearing the words, “Choice on Earth.”

The fundraising piece never mentioned the Christmas-related phrase but focused on stopping legislation sponsored in Congress by pro-life Rep. Mike Pence that would cut off taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood by preventing abortion businesses from receiving family planning funds.

“Emboldened by the fight over health care reform, extreme anti-choice groups have gotten a lot louder and, unfortunately, more powerful. And after the November elections, they have a new gang of allies ready to push their dangerous agenda,” Richards lamented. “Rep. Mike Pence has promised his anti-choice base that he will defund Planned Parenthood next year, and that’s just the beginning of the attacks on Planned Parenthood and the women Planned Parenthood serves.”

“When Congress returns in January, you can bet that we’ll see renewed attacks not just on Planned Parenthood, but on the right of every woman to make her own medical decisions,” she added.

Richards said the “new attacks” would come from “dangerous anti-choice groups and their allies in Washington” and she pleaded with abortion advocates to send a “special year-end gift” to help ward them off.

The email is a response of sorts to an email Pence sent out towards the end of November looking for support for his legislation, the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act.

“Reports show that Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, receives nearly one-third of its $1 billion annual budget from the federal government. And it’s about to get worse, because Obamacare is hiding even more tax dollars in handouts for abortion providers,” Pence explained.

“Nearly 3,500 abortions are performed every day in America. That’s 3,500 lives taken away, many on the government dime without the knowledge or direct approval of taxpayers! It’s reprehensible and we can’t allow it to continue,” Pence added.

Pence referred to the Pledge With America that House Republicans put forward before the elections promising to dismantle ObamaCare, which contains a full prohibition on abortion funding, and to cut off taxpayer funding for abortions in other areas.

“I’m ready to deliver that promise with legislation that will prevent abortion providers like Planned Parenthood from receiving a single dime from the federal government,” the Indiana congressman wrote. “With a new Republican majority, Planned Parenthood is running scared.”

Pence also referred to the $650 million in federal funds a GAO report shows the abortion business getting over a seven year period.

Exactly!

At least they seem to acknowledge that “choice” must replace peace ... the two cannot coexist.

The left is quite adept at using taxpayer money to fund their agenda. Planned Parenthood is one of many. It needs to stop.

Choice = no justice = no peace.

It drives me crazy when Christians say that they would never personally have an abortion but support the right to choose. That’s the same as saying, I would never kill my kid, but I support the right of other parents to choose to do so.

They are just evil. Using the time when celebrate the birth of our Saviour to call for more baby murder. They should have their cards printed with a representation of Herod on them.

When the antichrist sets up his one world government(and by that time it may be in place ready for him to take the reins of it), I can believe that amongst the first people recruited to his administration will be people who worked for Planned Grisly Murder of Innocent Victims Inc.

They’ve been using that same theme for years.

Crass and tasteless then. Crass and tasteless now.

God’s going to have to forgive me for the satisfaction I get watching those baby killers get theirs in the end.

If someone supports the right to have an abortion, they are supporting abortion.

They can't be separated.

I would also add that if someone is an “abortion agnostic” (also known as a Libertarian), it’s tantamount to support. As my brother likes to point out, it’s not a matter of imposing morality or not; it’s a matter of which morality you choose to impose.

On another note, I do find it ironic that PP is appealing to “the right of every woman to make her own medical decisions” with the exact same voting bloc that would deny those rights under Obamacare. Of course, the “choice” to abort would never be challenged.

Funny about that, isn't it.

I belong to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Our national by-laws state that we are a pro-life Catholic group which supports the teachings of the church. Our last regent was an abortion supporter. Many of our members are liberals who support Democrats even though they are pro-abortion. Efforts to point out the incongruity of their “beliefs” and their practices are futile.

At our national convention this past summer, we voted to exclude from leadership positions any woman who has publicly supported positions contradictory to Catholic teaching.

These organizations which claim faithfulness to Catholicism must be so in deed as well as word.
