Oh my how the mighty have fallen. It was such a short time ago when the Dems fled Texas to another State to frustrate the Republicans. Actions can have consequences, and sometimes voters don’t forgive. Welcome to political purgatory ya steenkin’ Dems.

I’d like to see an Arizona-style immigration law, but with even more teeth.

Texas Republicans Gain Supermajority in House

Does that bode well for conservatives in Texas?

Feel certain I can plug an aggravating CAVITY with Zinc Oxide and 100% Clove Oil, but this is much better news. So if the DEMS leave the State House now, does it matter LOL.....

If Joe Straus is kept as Speaker, it means the Democrats will still be in control though. He spent the last session as nothing more than a tool for them.

Dear Texas,

Please secede and I will come home.

Sincerely,

When I moved to TX in 1973 it was nearly a 100% Dem state, except for Sen. John Tower. Then John Connelly (former Gov.) switched parties. And so it goes. I was there for the initial elections of both Ron Paul and Tom DeLay. And so it goes.

There may be an excellent opportunity for Texas to use this situation to make a national impact.

Very soon, the Republicans in the US congress will be trying to pass the 28th Amendment to the US constitution. This would give the States the ability, with resolutions of 2/3rds of the States, to overturn onerous and improper federal law.

Since Texas will be able to complete its normal legislative business much faster than normal, plus the extra stuff they will want to do, they should turn their attention to both advocating for the passage of the 28th Amendment, and compiling a list of resolutions that can be proposed to other States to help put the federal government back in order.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I was waiting for this. This is one of the few cases where even a Rino can contribute. So the GOP will have a Quorum with or without the Left. Of course, now the GOP has no excuses not to do the right thing.

Here in NH, our house is 298-102 and the senate is 19-5 after being Dem majority for the last 4 years. Our Dem governor is now quite irrelevant. And I love it! I wouldn’t be surprised if we might flip a couple dems. Would be nice to have it an even 300 to 100.
(I’m one of the 298, BTW.)

What we need in TX: constitutional amendments to confirm freedom to open carry, ban illegal immigrants, and ban gay marriage. Also nullify any federal law conflicting with State constitution. In fact we can just be a republic again and get rid of that problem.
