Immigrant advocates say they’re making a last-ditch effort to push U.S. Sen. Scott Brown to support the "DREAM Act."

A coalition of advocates, educators and religious leaders have scheduled a press conference Monday at Boston City Hall to pressure the Massachusetts Republican to vote for the federal proposal.

It would allow some illegal immigrants to qualify for permanent legal residency by graduating from college or a trade school or by joining the military. The Senate is slated to vote on the measure this week.

Brown has said that he opposes the bill and sees it as "amnesty."

We’re watching you Brown. You’re already on very thin ice.

Most Hispanics do not vote Republican. We’re all you got.

Brown has been 100% consistent against amnesty.... MUCH more so than some so-called “conservative” senators like Brownback.

Brown has not been a disappointment so far. He is as conservative as you can hope for from Massachusetts.

I'm really glad that Brown is working out well for you, however, I was expressing MY opinion of him, not trying to change yours.

Have a good life.

"Brown has not been a disappointment so far."

Brown supports allowing homos to serve openly in the military. That doesn't "disappoint" you? If he's "as conservative as you can hope for from Massachusetts", then it's time to expel that state from the Union.

What are the odds of this thing actually passing?

If you followed his campaign, you wouldn’t be disappointed either.

You have a good life too.

Brown’s opposition to the Dream ACT is far more consequential than his support for repealing DADT.

If DADT is not repealed legislatively, it will most likely be repealed by the courts. And probably 75-80% of Brown’s constituents support repeal - you can only go out on a limb and oppose your constituents so many times.

"Brown’s opposition to the Dream ACT is far more consequential than his support for repealing DADT."

I guess you're not a veteran. I am, and the way I see it, one issue is just as bad as the other. Homosexuals serving openly and without fear in the US military is damn sure going to have dire consequences for our national security.

"If DADT is not repealed legislatively, it will most likely be repealed by the courts."

Sorry, after Kelo vs. New London, I don't trust the courts. The SCOTUS' 4-4-1 alignment doesn't give me the warm fuzzies, either. We're only one stroke, heart attack, fatal car crash, or Kennedy bad day away from tyranny. I have no faith or trust in the courts.

"And probably 75-80% of Brown’s constituents support repeal - you can only go out on a limb and oppose your constituents so many times."

Which is, again, why I say we should eject Massachusetts from the Union. From there we can move on to Kalifornia, Minnesota, Oregon, NY,...
