Mike Huckabee: Serious Competition for Sarah Palin in 2012
Politcs Daily ^ | 12/13/10 | Suzi Parker

Sarah Palin may have met her political match in Mike Huckabee.

Both have been criss-crossing the country on book tours. Both hold degrees in communication. Both hunt and fish. Both use various media to hit their target audiences.

But while Palin often generates anger, Huckabee takes the Will Rogers road. He has an aw-shucks demeanor, freely cracking jokes, shaking hands and chatting with the media while Palin shuns reporters.

Already road-tested by a 2008 White House run, Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and Baptist minister, may just be the strongest GOP candidate to take on Palin in a primary and President Barack Obama in a general election.

A purse fight. The good news is a rock-ribbed conservative should beat them both, as well as flipper.

So who is your preferred “rock-ribbed conservative”? Frankly, none of the informally acknowledged “candidates” do anything for me. I could get behind Paul Ryan.

No, NO, NO, NO, NO!

Huckabee had his chance and had absolutely ZERO luster. No Huckabee, NO Romney, no McStain. Dammit... what's it going to take to get through to the RNC that we DON'T WANT RINOS!

Were I a death-row murderer, I would be petitioning the courts for the right to vote for the Huckster. He is to politics what the “Get Our of Jail Free” card is to Monopoly.

When it comes down to vote time it doesn’t matter who the RNC wants. McCain won the nomination because of name recognition and cross over votes in open primary states. If I were you I’d be more concerned about Romney getting the nomination than Huckabee.

If you're a small-government conservative and are thinking about backing the Bear Stater, read Roses of Sharon's latest post.

Exactly.

If it comes down to Huckabee and Palin in the end...

I am liking Pence more and more. Even Christe.

Please don't kick my crap about for not loving Sarah, it is just that she appears to me to be about as qualified as the one is.

Eventually this crap misgovernment by the corrupt and the malleable must end, and someone with competence will have to assume control of the remainder.

Pray it is not mine.

if the “serious competition” is for Nielsen ratings points, then she may have a point...

Huckabee is a good guy. and likable. He is a milk toast on taking stands and would be a weak President.

Not a choice that would inspire and encourage strength and win the election.

The Republicans have intentionally chosen weak candidates to run for the Presidency.

IE. Dole, McCain. seemingly intended to be guaranteed to lose. Purposely. That way they get to be second fiddle and do not take the HEAT or the REPONSIBILITY for actions in Washington.

Look at how they blew the Newt "Contract with America". opportunity.

Newt was made to be totally responsible ... Congress played a major part as well.

It is much easier to cry "we do not have the votes" and get out of the spotlights. They get to live like Kings with all the perks and claim they would do it better but ... would they?

I pray to the LORD God, they can and will do better and act strong and with integrity and turn things around, in Jesus name, amen.

The (members of Congress) are all members of the same club, thus Republicans do curry favor on going ...

Here is Huck’s quote on the WH website. (I goofed on my original post...and copied the quote below his, sorry!)

“Congratulations to First Lady Michelle Obama, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and to the bi-partisan support in the Congress to pass the Healthy, Hunger Free Children Act. By passing a bill that addresses the nutritional quality of school lunches, an important step is being taken to give children choices that will make them healthier and more productive.”

-Mike Huckabee, Governor of Arkansas 1996-2007

“Already road-tested by a 2008 White House run,”

There is only 2 things in the middle of the road and that is yellow stripes and dead skunks and Huck fits both catagories!

Huckabee? Didn't he run the last time and got nowhere. Even with Duncan Hunter's endorsement. What makes you think he could withstand The Power of the Palin Side?

Give us a list of "rock ribbed conservatives" that will run and will get more than 1% of the vote.

DeMint is not running, he's said so repeatedly, so please don't bore us.

And when you give out your stupid list, remember what Jim Robinson asked you. Which of these can garner any more votes than Duncan Hunter did?

Sorry, you're making a lot of noise, but you never make any sense, you haven't made any sense for years.......

In his dreams

Huck reminds me of a fast-talking timeshare or used car salesman, not a US President
