Liberal organizers want to flood the Senate phone lines today in the run-up to a test vote this afternoon clearing the way for President Barack Obama’s tax deal with Republicans.

MoveOn alerted its members in an email on Monday asking them to call their senators and urge them not to vote for the measure, which would extend tax cuts for two years for every income bracket and reinstate the inheritance tax at 35% for estates larger than $5 million.

-snip-

The group is targeting Senate Democrats, whose opposition to the compromise would help bolster the negotiating position of their Democratic colleagues in the House.

The level of hatred for the wealthy is truly amazing! How did so many people become so hate-filled of successful individuals?

Ahh, but there's a distinction here. It is the level of hatred for other people's wealth. I guarantee you that there are many wealthy MoveOn.org members that will not surrender one red cent of their own, but by golly, all those other wealthy scumbags MUST PAY.

I'm always conflicted when the hippies come to DC to protest the World Bank lending money to poor countries, because I don't think the WB should be lending it either. The difference is, they think the WB should just be GIVING it, and I'm not sure the WB should even exist.

Decades of listening to Liberals demonize anything successful ... President Reagan, Sarah Palin, Big Oil, Big Tobacco, etc.

I’m fine with their filibuster. Anything shutting down Senate is great news.

Doesn't this remind you of the run-up to TARP? On TARP conservatives did a call-in to House Republicans and some held firm, only to be later bought off with taxpayer $$$$. Then a few weeks later they were fired (the ones that voted for TARP).

In this case Democrats waited until AFTER they were fired to try to pass their TARP pork deal, this package. Sounds like Pelosi may pull this one off too, like she did for Obama-care. Do Democrats have a lose-lose here?

Democrat indoctrination. The Democrat Party isn't composed of the brightest people.

It is the lynch pin to all other controversial legislation passing. If the extension of the tax cuts passes, DREAM, DADT, and likely START passes in this lame duck Congress. It is better to extend the Bush tax rates in January.

They can call for the next fifty years and I won’t answer them.

I was on the Treasury Department website recently, looking up proof in an argument I had on facebook with a liberal, and I found a link to donating money toward the debt. Maybe we should post that link on MoveOn.org so that the wealthy liberals can donate all the money they want to the government’s debt.
