Obama’s job approval rating hits a new low

Is President Obama in serious danger of losing re-election in 2012?

A new McClatchy/Marist Poll released over the weekend found Obama's job approval rating at just 42 percent — the lowest number of his presidency. One reason Obama's numbers have taken a turn for the worse: The president has lost ground with Democrats in recent weeks.

According to the poll, 74 percent of Democrats approve of the job Obama is doing — a sign that he remains enormously popular with his base. But that number is down nearly 9 percentage points since November, according to McClatchy. Meanwhile his disapproval rating nearly doubled, moving from 11 percent to 21 percent in the last month.

Among self-described liberals, his approval rating has dropped from 78 percent to 69 percent since November.

At the same time, his standing among independent voters — the group that propelled him to the White House in '08 — remained dismal. Just 39 percent of independents approve of Obama's job performance, compared with 50 percent who disapprove. That's down more than 20 points since Obama was elected.

He can still win with 42% approval. Conservatives split into two factions, the Palinistas and Mittites.

The GOP-controlled House should pass a resolution calling for the resignation of the Kenyan Usurper. If they don’t then they will reveal themselves to be a bunch of RINOs.

Looks like our friends on the left have clued into something all of us knew 3 or 4 years ago. He is fully incompetent and disconnected from everyone but the hard Commie Pinko wing of the party.

Since the blue dogs got slained during the recent elections, all he has left are those crazy loony liberals who will be driving him absolutely nuts for the rest of his term. They deserve each other.

This is 42% with the cheerleaders support. What was Bush’s with the cheerleaders against him? Imagine what it would be if the media treated him the same.

A daily body count from Afghanistan would bring it down another 5 percent or more. Sure don’t hear much about that these days, unless it’s a local.

His disapproval ratings are no where near done from dropping. I predict it will be below 20% within the next year. At least I hope it is.

I share your hopes, but, I think he will invoke a terrorist attack or something else to buoy him up

naa.. many will just stay home.

The Internet has changed everything, the same thing is happening to Obama that happened to Bush. Some of his decisions become unpopular .. he corrects his entire agenda towards the other side.. but instead of picking up support from the other side... he loses both and his numbers free fall.

I suspect the leftist Mainsteam Media will continue to do all they can to cover up for Obama. Under those circumstances one can only imagine how low Obama would be today if the Mainstream Media was honestly reporting about Obama.

What happened to Rasummsen’s poll? Use to be on FR daily with -10 or -20 or whatever the net difference was between positive and negative but I haven’t seen it here since before the election.
