From another tweet: “SJ-R confirms Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin shot himself to death before court hearing today about missing money from estate he had overseen.”

I’m assuming this was an assisted suicide until there’s more to the story.

Looting the estates of dead people with no close relatives is a perk of being a lawyer, everybody knows that.

And looting the estates of dead people with close relatives is congress's job.

Well at least he didn’t do it in front of a camera like Budd Dwyer.

Bud Dwyer called a press conference to make sure nobody had any confusion on how it happened. That was nasty. I think it was a 357 Magnum.

From ChicagoBreakingNews.com-

Davlin did not show up for a court-ordered appearance this morning in a pending estate case involving his late cousin.

In October, the State Journal-Register in Springfield reported that Davlin owed the federal government nearly $90,000 in unpaid income taxes and liens had been filed against his home. The mayor then blamed the problem on a dispute with the IRS over taxes owed on investments he cashed in to buy the home.
