Toomey to Support Don’t Ask / Don’t Tell Repeal

Senator-Elect Pat Toomey has just issued a statement supporting repeal of “Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell.”

“As I’ve said previously, my highest priority is to have the policy that best enables our armed services to do their job,” Senator-Elect Toomey said. “Our civilian and professional military leadership have now spoken and said we should repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. I would support a free-standing measure to do so.”

If Majority Leader Reid keeps his word, the freestanding repeal measure passed by the House yesterday will be voted on in the Senate in the lame duck, before Sen.-Elect Toomey is seated. Still, the support of a credible conservative like Toomey is a sure sign that repeal is likely to pass.

I know that this whole thing is disappointing. I’m disappointed as well that the “Show and Tell” rules are closer to going into effect.

Toomey, like Scott Brown are positioning [sic] themselves to be on “the right side of history”. In history, “rights” were expanded to include non-property owners, to women, to Native Americans, to African-Americans, and now to gays. This seems unstoppable-—for better or for worse.

It entails a progress of human construct devoid of absolute truth and counter to the natural law. The innevitavly that progressives promote is the path to TYRANNY -the very thing the founders set up the Republic to prevent by guaranteeing religion a voice in public discourse. HOWEVER, there is a big difference between a revolution and founding a country established under God with unalienable rights endowed by the Creator. Just as there is a big difference between rejecting health care reform and returning the country back to its original foundation.

Do you "GET IT"? Government denial of the natural law and promotion of homosexual sex is a big problem...

The ratings are now rigged. They were not originally, however. Members are told in advance what narrow votes will “count” on the survey. Otherwise, they are free to take liberal positions that they prefer. That’s how McPain and “Lindsey” keep high ratings.

He's certainly welcome to his opinion, but before he votes on it, he should be required to go through Marine Basic Training with embedded gay recruits (have fun with that one....).

This should be immediately followed by a remote special ops assignement of the most difficult kind with a 30% mix of openly gay operators.

If he makes it though all that, then he should be allowed to sponsor and vote on all the DADT repeal legislation he wants.

The Specter endorsement was a terrible mistake and Rick knows it. Casey is terrible - a mediocrity and he is not very pro life either.
