DREAM Act blocked in Senate

Senate Republicans blocked a measure Saturday that would have offered provisional legal status to some adults who came to America illegally as children.

Democratic backers of the legislation fell short of the 60 votes to move the DREAM Act legislation forward. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Jon Tester of Montana, Max Baucus of Montana, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, and Ben Nelson of Nebraska voted against bringing the bill to the floor; Republican Sens. Richard Lugar, Lisa Murkowski, and Robert Bennett voted for it. The vote was 55-41.

Don’t we already have a law that ‘fast tracks’ the citizenship of legal permanent residents serving in the military? Did this bill address that issue at all?

We need to start posting the names, resumes and addresses of the people who run the Leftist media. Who are these jerks/ Where do they live? How do they live? Who funds them? Where did they go to school? Who are their friends? Let's, in this age of ultimate transparency, challenge the dominant paradigm. Let's expose these creators of reality to public scrutiny... WE WANT PICTURES!!!!!!!

Great idea. Let's go for it full bore and expose these communist elites who want to destroy our Sacred Republic!

"Look at Me! Look at Me!" Lisa Murkowski is the problem child of the NRSC. And unless Joe Miller succeeds in the daunting task of proving the obvious fraud that led to her "reelection", she is gonna be a thorn in our sides for the next 6 years.

Given that DADT will weaken the military that the Feds may send against us one day; given that the military has not been used effectively or for legitimate defense purposes (IMO - flame away!) for over a half century; given that fewer straight men and more gay men will now die in our overseas follies; given that the DREAM nightmare would have made reversal of any of the Marxist, anti-American crap we now face an impossibility over time: I am much in favor, if only one could pass, that it be DADT, not the nightmare.

Let the transvestites and transexuals join the women in running our ships, flying our planes, and conducting our ground ops with bizarre ROEs for a while. This will get reversed one day when the folly of it becomes apparent. The DREAM act would have caused irreparable harm.

Still, any RINOs who supported this nonsense should have short careers, as should all the Dems.

Murkpwski is the perfect example of what is wrong with our system. She lost the primary, got her corrupt insider Pork loving buddies to help her in the write in campaign, and now that she is re-elected for six years, goes back to her corrupt ways.

I hope every dime of federal $ that feed her fat porky ass in Alaska are eliminated. The woman has no class, no honesty, and no decency

Oh wow, the Dream act would have been the end of the country. We will have to fight again another day on DADT.

I hope you are correct. If you are not it isn’t the end of the world, people will die, people will be hurt, we will be sued by gays who have had their feelings hurt. I hope our troops are able to handle things covertly and make themselves safe but it will be another hardship placed on them they don’t need.

The bigger problem, and this manipulation of the military as a social issue is a big problem, is that the govt are still ignoring most of us and are doing what they want to do instead of what is right. If most of the rest of us had any training they might realize how much is being done wrong as well. I don’t think it is going to stop until the consequences to them and politicans become personal and very serious.

Just the last two days a game ranger in NJ wrote tickets for not wearing life jackets to people who rescued a deer from an icy river . A Fed bank examiner told a small town Oklahoma bank to take down all the Christian related symbols and statements. This kind of stupidity and intrusion will not stop until there are personal consequences to these “enforcers” that are terribly serious.

Well, thank God. We've got a little more time to shut down the Stalinist behemoth.

Es muy bueno.

And DADT will get reset, probably next month.

You are so right as Obama & company will use the “back door” to get his agenda into place if we are not watching.

Victory for freedom and America!

This is not just a vote this is the most important vote. If this Dream act had passed then the U.S. would have been finished.

RINOs as many of you all call them, Republican Scott Brown and Republicans stopped the Dream act!

All you democrat sympathizers who claim to be conservative lets hear your praise of Republicans now.Yeah sure you’ll just bash them for some other liberal media lie.

Vastly outnumbered, Republicans stood like a stone wall against the Marxist/democrat horde! Thank God for Republicans!

I am so happy! I have hope now!

We need to organize and start “pushing” back in the ways the Liberals do instead of just talking or we will loose this great country of ours!

ROLL CALL for the H.R. 5281 Dream Act vote (fails to advance in the Senate, by a vote of 55-41, as 60 votes were needed to move the bill forward)...

Yeah 3 freaking liberals/democrats who call themselves Republicans voted for this. But you all will use THAT to slander all Republicans even though over 95% of Republican Senators voted against the Dream act and stopped it. This is what you did last time Republicans stopped Amnesty years ago and with hundreds of other bills.

Democrats pushed this Dream act 5 times. Republicans voted 95% against this Dream act every time. NO that's not good enough for you so for that you destroy 95% of Republicans for a few evil liars and so give the democrats who voted 95% for the Dream act etc. total power.

Your dumb logic is purity of the party more important than defeating horrible bills and giving total power to pure evil marxists/democrats. You all are puppets of the liberal media or are democrats posing as conservatives.
