Just curious, how do mail carriers survive on a daily basis without opening up on family pets in neighborhoods full of old women and kids?

Don't mail carriers simply carry mace and pepper spray for nuisance dogs and for the safety of the neighborhood?

Maybe the mail carrier was introduced to the dog under different circumstances

Mail carriers change routes all the time, new carriers start on the job daily, people obtain new dogs etc, etc...

With billions spent on law enforcement, why are they not equipped with pepper spray and or mace, like mail carriers routinely use in situations like this?

Here, let me satisfy your curiosity.

Control your animal if you care about it. If it makes a credible display of aggression it’s liable to be killed.

I don’t think you would take the risk of being mauled so don’t expect anyone else to.

Pick your battles. Go after the cops that make obviously bad shoots. Foaming at the mouth over questionable incidents makes one look like a dumbass.
