Should have been a full pardon. He was INNOCENT! The judge was CORRUPT! If he still has a felony on his record he now cannot own firearms . Christie is a BIG pain in the a$$. I compare him to Obummer in a white suit !
This is a great start. We look forward to a quick full pardon, a public apology from Christie for his state’s numerous offenses against Aitken, compensation from the state for Aitken’s losses, and restitution of his guns. Let’s see the full “make him whole” treatment.
See everyone. This is what I am talking about.
We get the hyper-hysterics around here, and we look like a bunch of fools.
Christie = Obama in a white suit? Really?
OK, let's re-set the debate field with adults, and start over.
A few points:
1. Yes, the "gun control" laws of liberal states like NJ, MA, and CA are unconstitutional. The SCOTUS punted in the Columbia vs. Heller case, and left the barn door wide open with this "reasonable restrictions" language garbage that allow these states to get away with it. Too bad the Wise Latina and the Bull Dyke are now on the court, because we can expect more of the same.
2. I too want to live in a sinless utopia where freedom and justice reign supreme. The only problem is, we won't get there until Christ returns and rules for 1,000 years on earth before eternity. Until then, we should take victories where we can get them. In a week where the military was destroyed by Congress through repeal of DADT and our debt clock looks like a mouse's heartbeat on amphetamines, this decision by Christie is some good news for a change.
3. Anyone who does not realize that this is an incredible set back for the gun control fascists isn't thinking this through. For one thing, this case focused on the insane and misguided liberal "reasonable gun laws" that are now exposed in the light of day as being completely unreasonable. Moreover, the police and prosecutors here in NJ will think twice before they attempt to railroad a decent law abiding citizen over this nonsense again.
I'll take that, and celebrate it.
Living in New Jersey one learns eventually that the State Police are pretty much an entity and a law unto themselves. The message is clearly “Don’t F with this’’.
Apparently, he only *asked* for a commutation, which was granted. He didn’t ask for a pardon.
It may be that his plan is to then appeal the conviction and have it overturned, which I think he wouldn’t be able to do if he was pardoned. It may be that a pardon would remove his standing to file an appeal.
Just thinkin’ out loud.
I love this guy.
Obama IS a BULLY, and so is Christie . Don’t count on Christie to save the world. He is a friend of Obummers and also IMHO a Rhino
Jury nullification would have been an even better solution, but thats asking a bit much from the sheeple.
Jury nullification in New Jersey always involves a guy named Vinnie and brown bags of full of cash changing hands...
Thank you. Some the anti-christie crowd are a joke.
This is better than nothing...but I agree, the Gov should be urged to pardon the man.
Pay no attention or get rid of em’. Detractors all.
Re: years, I misunderstood. Thought he had already served 7 years. But apparently he could have been in as long as 7. That would have been a travesty.
“Jury nullification in New Jersey always involves a guy named Vinnie and brown bags of full of cash changing hands...”
There’s times I wish I had been born Italian ;)
I call these people the 10/10 crowd. Unless someone is 10/10 thungs they want, they cast them off. Its ridiculous.
If I get 8/10 I’m thrilled, and that is what christie is.
Its not all its cracked up to be. Trust me. I wish instead of being a NY Dago, I was a redneck in Texas.
How dare they taker away our God given right of self defense...!
Mistake number one.
I really, really like BIG BOY.
I completely concur on that. Christie, sans an epiphany on the 2nd Amendment, is completely unacceptable as a Presidential (or even VP) candidate.
He was trying to get out of prison. I can’t blame him for just trying for commutation. Now is the time for everyone, especially NJ residents, to continue writing Christie’s office.
