Poll of eight states: Romney trails other major presidential contenders among conservatives

Weve polled eight states, not including Massachusetts, since the 2010 election ended. Romney has the lowest favorability rating of the Republican top 4 with conservatives in every single one of those states except Michigan, where he probably benefits from his dad having been the Governor. And its not like Romney is just slightly less well liked than the others with conservatives- its a large gap, particularly when you compare him with Palin or Huckabee. Romneys average favorability is 58%. Gingrich is next worst at 64%, followed by Huckabee at 73%, and Palin does best at 77%
And because conservatives make up the lions share of Republican primary voters, it should come as no surprise that his issues with them are now leading to poor numbers for him overall in these early snapshots. Of the last eight states weve polled Romney has led in only one- Michigan- and even there he could only salvage a tie with Huckabee. Huckabee has led in four states overall with Palin ahead in three and Tim Pawlenty ahead in his home state. Romneys average performance has been 15% with Gingrich at 16%, Palin at 20%, and Huckabee at 21%.

Well holy cow! I’m surprised Romney is in the celler. I’m sure my fellow conservagtives are all surprised, too.

This is not only Romney signing Romneycare into law, it is Mitt signing his political death warrant. In a GOP environment with heavy Tea Party influence, the base does not want to support a guy with the same Progressive ideals as Obummer.

Backstabber Romney trails almost all contenders.
What a POS Team Romney has turned out to be for the GOP
and conservatives. Bastards have thrown at least two elections
already. The ineligible Romney should be sent BACK to Mexico
with the fifty million illegals he brought here.

Poll of eight states: Romney trails other major presidential contenders among conservatives Who knows this better than anyone?
THE LAMESTREAM!
ALSO THE GOP-E, which is the reason they're pushing Huckaboob!
I will also note that to clear the field for Huckaboob, the lamestream went after Haley Barbur today in a nasty, smearing hit piece.

Way to bury the lede, Hot Air! Headline should be: “Poll of 8 States: Palin #1 for Conservatives”

Removing Romney from the equation is working. Huckabee is next. He's as much a socialist as Romney, he just offsets it with Christian imagery when he promotes it.
We'll have to make a point and expose his game.

If Repubs nominate Romney, I don’t vote.
Period.
To: Da Coyote
If Repubs nominate Romney, I dont vote. Period.
The only way it happens is if we as conservatives split our votes among many candidates, allowing him to win with a plurality.
That's why they are running Herman Cain now as well. The establishment knows to beat Sarah they need to divide the conservative base.
We need to stay solidly united behind Sarah if we want a conservative nominee...

When Huckasquirrel record is known he will crater to Mittens level. Gov. Palin on the other hand will keep or increase her support.
I don’t think the non-political junkie types even have a clue of Huckasquirrel record. Heck I doubt those who watch this show know his liberal past.

Palin leads the field among conservatives in all eight states, 22/21 over Huckabee, with Gingrich third at 15 percent and Romney fourth at 14 percent. BTTT

This is quite surprising and unexpected, particularly to someone in my profession. I was of the opinion that Romney would be as strong in a general election as McCain, unlikely to lose by more than 5-6% in November, 2013.

“Moreover, if you scrutinize his $35K consulting fees while governor from Novo Nordisk, the largest proponent of embryonic stem cell research in the world, he is not going to look as prolife as Palin either. (Romney invested in the company and sold the stock when it leaked out. Huck kept the cash.)”

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."
