Padilla Named Revenue Chief (NM-Hispanic gov-elect directs repeal of driver's license's to illegals)

Gov.-elect Susana Martinez named certified public accountant and business owner Demesia Padilla as her nominee for the state Taxation and Revenue Department Secretary on Friday.

"I selected Ms. Padilla because she is a professional administrator, one who understands how New Mexico tax code affects businesses, families and certainly the parents that live in New Mexico," Martinez told an Albuquerque news conference Friday.

Padilla has owned and operated her own tax preparation and consulting business in New Mexico for 18 years, formerly worked as an IRS agent and ran an unsuccessful campaign for state treasurer in 2006.

Martinez said Padilla has a large agenda before her when Martinez's administration takes office Jan. 1. "Together, Ms. Padilla and I will promote reforms to our tax code to make it more understandable, business-friendly and fair," Martinez said.

"And as overseer of New Mexico's motor vehicle department, I have made it a priority for Ms. Padilla to develop a bill that will revoke the driver's licenses that have been issued thus far to illegal immigrants, as well as to change the law to no longer issue driver's licenses to illegal immigrants."

One point of interest is that it isn't just illegal Hispanics that have getting licenses but those from other countries including Brazil, China and other countries who pay a facilitator to get realistic documents showing they "reside" in NM (which is all they need -- eg. a utility bill or rent receipt). This governor of NM is against illegals, is a woman and a hispanic and seems conservative.

How about her for President? How can she lose?

The liberal heads will explode because they want women and minorities to be good communists/democrats.

This could shift some Hispanic votes to conservatism.

Let me tell everyone here a story...the other day I was at the DMV. Two (possible illegals) walk in to exchange a tag. I do not know whether they (possible illegals) were successful. I did happen to be leaving, at the time they were, and followed them out. They went to a vehicle with a tag from out-of-state (state next door) to state they were in and left. Now what were they doing inside this state looking to exchange a tag in the state they were in, while driving a vehicle with a tag from out of state? btw...my state stopped handing out DLs to people inside the state illegally a while back. Wonder what these two were up to?One would think they had a DL, to get in the vehicle and drive away.

She just came out of her corner swinging.

She has a record of doing that. A gun-toting security guard at 17, a Republican district attorney in a heavily Democratic county, many successful prosecutions of drug criminals, and of perps who committed sex crimes against women and children. Her husband is under-sheriff for Dona Ana County (will resign with her becoming governor). She is one tough customer.

there will be a big bulls-eye on her back. The Democrats will be going over her life with a fine tooth comb, looking for any bit of dirt, real or imagined.

I hear Dan Rather has a big ranch in the area. He may be able to type something up for them.
