Nineteen of 20 U.S. residents celebrate Christmas, including 80 percent of non-Christians...

A majority of those surveyed said their celebrations include religious activities, with 62 percent going to church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, 65 percent including religious symbols in their decorations and 78 percent saying they take some time to reflect on Christ's birth.

Ninety-five percent of Americans celebrate Christmas, and of these, 51% describe the holiday as “strongly religious” for them, continuing an upward trend seen since 1989.

So only 5% are “offended” by the birth of Jesus Christ? Normally, 95% wins. We need to make it that way again. Those Scrooges who are “offended” can go stick their head in a snowbank until after Christmas.

Including my best bud Jewish friend. Who puts up a tree before me, decorates the joint before me, sends out more Christmas cards than I do. When he called last night, he lamented that they might not have enough time to “get ready” with baking and all.

His family celebrates both Hannukah and Christmas. And there isn’t a Christian member of the family in the bunch.

Peace on Earth and all that other good stuff. :)

I am not offended when my Jewish friends wish me Happy Hanukkah, would not be offended if someone wished me Happy Kwanza, or Ramadan, or anything else. If someone is offended when I wish them Merry Christmas, they have something wrong with them. I am not asking them to celebrate my beliefs, I am only wishing good things for them. BTW my Jewish friend just sent me an email wishing me Merry Christmas and telling me she was glad we were friends. None of the Jewish people I actually know ever seem to have an issue with Christmas or Easter or anything else. So, who ARE the people who are so offended?

The Jews I know don't care one bit about this being the Christmas season, either. In the spirit of the season, they wish me a Merry Christmas, and I wish them Happy Hanukkah. Now, if someone wished me a "Happy Kawnzaa", or "Zippy Kwanzaa" or whatever, I'd probably laugh and wish them a Happy Yak Shaving Day (with a tip of the hat to Ren and Stimpy).

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Christmas is the busiest time of year for atheists.

Huh? I'm an atheist and I don't feel busier. Oh, and I wish everyone with whom I come into contact during December a Merry Christmas. It is a BIG part of our culture, and I respect it.

So, Merry Christmas, fellow Freepers, and this is from a conservative atheist.

So you’re not one of those atheists who can’t breath when you see a Christmas tree and require everybody bow to your beliefs? You may want to rethink your atheism, cause this is when we here how oppressed you and your fellow 4% are.

Merry Christmas

Hmmm, I would have thought that those in the retail sector would be happy about the Christmas season.

Christmas is the busiest time of year for atheists.

I'm an agnostic, but I celebrate Christmas.
Jesus was the most influential person ever to have lived, and you don't need to be religious to appreciate that his teachings are as relevant today as they were 2000 years ago.
So Merry Christmas to all, left, right and inbetween.

Tell that to the Fundamental atheists who have us whispering Merry Christmas rather than Happy Holidays soas not to offend. But yes he is the most important person since his gift was forgiveness and salvation from ourselves.

Merry Christmas
