CNN-Tea Party Express Debate Labor Day Week 2011(The Details)
Tea Party Express ^ | December 24 , 2010 | Syncro

Posted on 12/24/2010 2:11:01 PM PST by Syncro

Tea Party Express is going to have a Presidential Debate branded The CNN-Tea Party Express Debate -- Labor Day week 2011 in Tampa, FL, the site of the Republican Convention in 2012.

And it will be broadcast live over cable station CNN.

It most likely will be on a College campus.

TPX will distribute the tickets to Tea Party people.

There will be a moderator from CNN who will recoginze the questioneers so they can ask their questions of the Candidates.

I had a conversation with a stratigist from Tea Party Express the other day, and revieved a lot of information.

"This is an important recognition that the Tea Party movement is real, and it opens up a whole new audience of people that will be receptive to our message. We have to grow the movement beyond Fox to make it a true majority of Americans behind the tea party banner".
More information will be supplied on this thread.

The Tea Party Express is pleased to announce that we have agreed to partner with CNN to host the first-ever Tea Party Presidential Debate for GOP candidates for president.

This is a huge victory for the tea party movement as we will not only hold Republican candidates accountable for supporting tea party principles of limited government, but it also helps build further momentum for the tea party movement in getting our message heard to more and more people.

We will be full partners with CNN, jointly making decisions with them about the debate, and we will ensure that this debate reflects tea party principles, and we appreciate the opportunity to have those values represented over the airwaves of CNN.  ...We continue to expand our reach, and we couldn't be more thrilled.

There will be satellite areas around the country with CNN cameras that the debate will cut off to to get questions from tea party people across the country

There will be a CNN cameraman, probably from one of the local network stations, who will be there.

And part of the good news is that Free Republic can choose to have a debate watching event.

Several satellite venues will be selected—depending on the crowd size and importance of the venue.

Best venue for FR to use would be one of the early primary states, such as Iowa or New Hampshire etc.

WHY ??

To have candidates running for the office of the President of the United States in 2012 answer questions from Tea Party American Citizens.

They must be vetted very throughly so tea partiers all across the country can choose the best candidate to represent our Constitutional Republic as it should be.

WHY CNN (?)

You will find this in the body of the thread, but here it is again.

"This is an important recognition that the Tea Party movement is real, and it opens up a whole new audience of people that will be receptive to our message. We have to grow the movement beyond Fox to make it a true majority of Americans behind the tea party banner".

None of the media is actually friends with the conservative movement.

They are there to be used to further the Conservative/Tea Party cause.

They must always be watched closely, and it will be done freespirited.

Thanks you for your concern.

Does the TPX honestly believe that they will get a fair shake from CNN?

And if so, why, in the name of all that is holy, do they think that?

This was not gone into lightly.

If you read post carefully, you will see that all bases are covered quite well.

Of course, it will have to be watched closely.

This is a Tea Party debate, with CNN as the host.

I know ,but this will be a SETUP and I never will be convinced that somehow this can be fair and it is too early they need to stay in a safe environment.

...they need to stay in a safe environment.

Why start now being cowed by the media and the radical leftists?

Tea Party people are the salt of the earth and are not afraid of anything.

The direction to which our country is being steered by Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Rove, Ginrich, dems, RINO's etc is dangerous to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and needs to be stood up to!

“We have to grow the movement beyond Fox to make it a true majority of Americans behind the tea party banner”

And this will be BEST accomplished with the “help” of CNN?

Who edits what CNN puts on the air?

Who is going to make money from this?

It's never too early to fight for our rights!

The Tea Party Movement is like a train traveling at lightening speed on the track of the Constitution and low taxes, small government and all that is needed to be an effective Constitutional Republic

Taxed Enough Already!

The people that are on the other side of rightousness for our Country are already working on their schemes, the time is ripe for the TPM.

It's kind of hard to edit a live broadcast.

CNN's ratings will skyrocket, they will make money on this.

The Tea Party Movement and individual tea partiers will get lots of positive exposure on what is pretty much a left of center Cable News outlet.

...only what is best for the Rats and Obama will be broadcast.

The TPX has a long history with CNN, they had reporters embedded on the busses on more than one TPX National Bus Tour.

They interviewed many people from the TPX crew, and many individual Tea Party people.

They gave some surprizingly well balanced coverage in the past.

We are going to have a little fire pit on stage and hold their feet to it if they go weird on us!

CNN?

Even if it’s live, we know that there is a thing called “COMMERCIAL BREAK”, which is a powerful tool to distract, confuse, and omit, among others!

I might agree IF THE SOLE BUSINESS OF CNN IS TO AIR THE DEBATE ... NO CNN MODERATOR AT ALL!

My skepticism has nothing to do with Palin.

In the primary debate, SAME RULE MUST APPLY TO EVERYONE.

It’s the presence of CNN moderator. CNN moderator will take snipes/side comments/subtle stabbing to ALL the potential candidates.

So, CNN can be the medium provided that the following conditions are fulfilled:

1. No CNN moderator.

2. A Binding Set of Rules for the use of commercial breaks during debate to be strictly followed by CNN while broadcasting the debate.
