I'd agree, except how do you avoid the "Yankees" syndrome -- the wealthiest districts get the most gain, which they reinvest in advancing their attractiveness to business, which makes them more wealthy, which they reinvest . . . you get the drift.

So, what you're saying then is that the government should continue to steal tax dollars from those that earn it (the so-called 'wealthy') and redistribute it to those that don't so that these wealthy don't re-invest THEIR OWN EARNED MONEY in a manner which suits themselves and which grows the economy. I sense that you agree with the democrats in the notion that taxes are to be used to "spread the wealth" from earner to freeloader.

I disagree with that notion. If I pay $20,000 in federal income taxes, I expect the government to provide $20,000 worth of benefit to ME, not to someone that didn't pay ANY income tax. We need to stop using the tax dollars of the productive to provide eternal life support to the freeloading communists that make up the base of the democrat party. I don't like feeding my enemies.

...And it wouldn’t surprise me in the least that CA thinks that there are more people then what was counted. They think that snowbirds are residents, illegals are residents and for some reason think my husband and I still live there.

And they think the court should over turn every election (proposition) result that doesn't rubber stamp their socialist agenda.

.....I don't like feeding my enemies.

But politicians like to buy votes. And they're not going to spend their money doing it, it's coming out of our pockets.

Exactly. Mr R and I spent over 20 years (since we could vote) involved in Young Republicans (running a local chapter), founding a couple of College Republican chapters, involved with CRA all the way up to state level, campaigning, phone banking, getting things on ballots..and EVERY TIME we got a conservative prop passed it was overturned by a liberal judge.

The people don’t have a vote in CA, it is only what the state/judges want. It was frustrating and very angering.

That's a ridiculous number of people to be undercounted. Obviously we'll be hearing about statistical models instead of actual counting again. Bah.

For those complaining about CA wanting more money from the Feds, CA does get less from the Feds than CA taxpayers send to them. CA gets 78 cents per dollar. That's less than 40+ other states.

FDR seems to have been the most pernicious and evil forced unleashed on our land.

I think we should trade California to the Chinese to settle our debt. Once they are in control, Jose will either be dog food or safely back in Mexico. Either way... problem solved.

Californians and businesses have been leaving the state ever since Schwarzenegger started to capitulate to the State Legislature and foist anti business policies like cap and trade and a green agenda in the state.”

My neighbors in N Calif moved out in 2003. I moved in late 2004.

We went to states where we had to turn in our vehicles plates & our driver’s licenses to get new ones.

The lady I spoke to at the Nev DMV told me they ship back these items weekly, along with electronic information.

My friends moved to Kansas, where they were told basically the same thing.

We all received DEMANDS for renewal of our vehicles—I had a car, a truck & 2 horse trailers-——they had a car, a truck, her Mom’s car & a mid-sized trailer he used for transporting his sheep.

All of these demands came directly to our NEW addresses—nothing was ‘forwarded!!

California knew perfectly well where we were & they also knew that we had new plates & licenses.

Wonder how much money is wasted yearly with this kind of nonsense?

So, I guess the 1.5 million they think were not counted are persons like myself & my old neighbor.

Another explanation is that they are handing out Welfare & Food Stamps & Section 8 Housing to millions of illegals, who didn’t get on the Census.

As I understand, 435 seats in the House is chiseled in stone.
The seat counts change from state to state as the population ballons & deflates over time.

I don’t think they can ADD any House seats.

I once heard that California has 4 House seats MORE than it should have because illegal aliens were included in previous census counts.”””

Does NOT surprise me at all.

I would bet that one of those extra seats is Pelosi’s district!!!

Congress passed a law locking the number at 435 a century ago next year, but it can be repealed. It needs to be. Each House member represents an average of 710,000 people, more or less depending on the state. There is no way someone can effectively do that. And its only going to get worse.

The Senate represents the States interests(as originally conceived), so there isn’t the same concern there. But the House needs to be made larger. The reason it was locked in at 435 is that is the maximum the House chamber could seat. It might be time for us to undertake building a new House chamber, able to handle up to 5000 members.

“Eureka city schools have lost 45% of their enrollment and closed 3 elementary and 2 Jr High Schools in the past 10 to 15 years. Humboldt county schools are hurting also as the logging industries have been brought their knees by the Marxist green Red movement..”

When MJ becomes legal, Eureka will regain all of the lost enrollment when illegals flood your area to cultivate, pick and process the MJ.

Illegal students are about to become worth their weight in gold re student head counts in schools.

We already have all that going on here because IT IS ILLEGAL. They’ll be growing on the former vineyards of Napa county when it is legalized...

Congress has the power to tax income from whatever source (from Amendment 17), but I.2.iii is still in effect.

Honestly, I don’t think he’ll be reelected next term. Who knows, he may not even run if Texas mandates a birth certificate. So, he probably has a little over a year left. Hopefully, (but I doubt) the worst is over and we can focus on putting the breaks on and try to undo this admin’s policies.
