The California airline pilot punished by the Transportation Security Administration for posting videos critical of airport security has revealed his identity.
Chris Liu, who calls himself the "Patriot Pilot," says he was just trying to improve airport security when he released a recorded and posted online footage of San Francisco International Airport in which he criticized a number of procedures.
Liu had been part of a federal security program allowing him to carry a gun in the cockpit. But after he posted the video, federal agents showed up at his house Dec. 2 to confiscate his weapon and suspend his Federal Flight Deck Officer credentials.
Liu originally declined to identify himself in fear of retaliation but says hes now going public in hopes of changing major security flaws.

This article doesn’t mention that Liu is an Army reservist and a pilot for American Airlines.
It is very common for commercial pilots to be in the military reserves.
From what I saw someone here on FR say last week, who has worked in the airline industry for years (as well as his family)....HE IS RIGHT!
These are times in which outlandish measures are taken — or not -— in order to avoid the evil of profiling, too.
Wonder where they got the authority to do that? I don't recall reading that the 2nd Amendment was repealed.
How come nobody mentions that SF opted out of TSA & has a private security company?
Where is airport operations on all of this? Are they not responsible for what the pilot is calling weaknesses?
He’s griping about doors, but I’ve never seen TSA guarding doors at any airport I’ve been to, is that not airport ops? What airline is this supposed to be? What airline does he fly for?
Good thing this is not politically motivated.
It’s per his FDO agreement, TSA took the weapon they issued him. I don’t recall anything indicating they took his personal guns.
Our Mullah Furher does not need any laws. He controls the senate, the judiciary, the military, tv and hollywood. No one dares say anything bad about our beloved mullah.
This Chris Liu guy is a hero.

But those fu**ers managed to get my bottle of this after scanning my bag twice:
IDIOTS!
Our Gov’t is now so huge, and its rules so pervasive, that eventually, every American will run afoul of it sooner or later.
I was just telling hubby that I am sure I break at least one law or regulation at least once a day, maybe more. I have no clue what the law or regulations are anymore since there are so darn many of them.
Seek help, Frantzie. Seriously. Do it.
>> So... is he really the “Patriot Pilot,” or another wikileaker type??
Begs the question about the harm caused thus far by WikiLeaks.
I am sure I break at least one law or regulation at least once a day Hi there! I'm here to remind you that every time you throw out a battery, you must encase it in lead no thinner than 3/4", wrap the lead in a plastic bag, wash the plastic bag with distilled water at a temperature of no less than 180 degrees, sprinkle dessicated chicken feathers on it, and take it to a hazardous waste dump escorted by at least four emergency vehicles with blaring sirens. Don't forget! As for those compact fluorescent bulbs... if you break one of those you might as well abandon your dwelling. |
Or the 4th Amendment.
And that is the point. You will notice that there is very little enforcement of all of these "rules", "regulations", and "laws". The folks in power just want to make sure that every citizen is "guilty" of something. It's easier to control a person when you can use the law to ruin that persons life.
People really have no clue as to how much of a sitting duck they are on those airplanes. The US Postal Service throws bags of unchecked mail right into the belly of many of those planes. Lots of Cargo by known shippers is also not checked and just loaded into the belly of the plane.
