An 18-year-old man was shot in the head this morning at a White Castle restaurant in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. on the 6600 block of South Halsted Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
Preliminary reports said the man was inside the restaurant when someone opened the door and shot him in the head. The man was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, Greer said.

When I eat White Castle burgers I take two of them and make one burger out of them...discarding half the buns. Gut bombs are better for you that way.
But there aren’t any guns allowed in Chicago......how’s this possible?
Out east, Five Guys and Shake Shack can give In-And-Out a run for its money. Schnipper's Quality Kitchen is only one location now that I know of, but I suspect it's going the Shake Shack route.
The thing is, there are maybe as many Five Guys as there are In-And-Outs, but there are only a handful of Shake Shacks.
If Shake Shack had as many locations as In-And-Out (over 250 as I recall) and maintained the current quality, they would be hands down the better operation.

I was only arrested once at a White Castle at 2:30 AM. My friends had called me up to meet me there on the way to the 4 AM bars.
Disorderly Conduct they called it. ;-)
Sliders are NOT subject to the quality restraints found at In and Out or Five Guys.

The South Side of Chicago. Obama country. Obama’s project is to turn the entire country into a place that resembles the district he represented in the Illinois State Assembly. With 10 percent unemployment, he has us well on the way.
The one off 127th is in Blue Island, for years that was the one we frequented. I live far away from Sliderville now. Probably a good thing.

I once strayed too far south in Chicago. Scariest place I’ve ever been. The Amish there stare at you as if you had three eyes.
Englewood is probably the single worst neighborhod in Chicago.
I suspect that that Burger King guy might be involved.
