Police: Bank Robbers Holding Hostages (Pearland, TX)

Chase Bank On North Main Street In Pearland Robbed Friday
PEARLAND, Texas -- Two armed men are holding people hostage in a bank robbery, police said. Pearland police said the men held up the Chase Bank in the 1900 block of Main Street on Friday morning.
Investigators said the bank's manager was injured, but have not released the extent of his injuries.
An unknown number of hostages are being held inside the bank, police said.
Residents in the area said parts of state Highway 35 were being blocked off.

My mom lives about a mile from there off McHard road.
She’s in town at lunch, hopefully this will be done by the time she’s on her way home.

My mom lives about a mile from there off McHard road. She’s in town at lunch, hopefully this will be done by the time she’s on her way home.Have you called her to make sure she didn't stop by the bank? I pray not.

The FBI has joined in the investigation.
Residents in the area said parts of state Highway 35 were being blocked off.
As of Thursday, there had been 169 bank robberies in the area this year, according to the FBI. There were 155 bank robberies in the Houston area in 2009.

She’s not answering her cell, she turns it off in restaurants.
She doesn’t bank there and Hwy 35 is south of her exit.
Really all she has to worry about is a traffic backup on 288.
