(You know it's really bad when) Biden is a linchpin of Obama's presidency
Los Angeles Times ^ | December 31, 2010 | Peter Nicholas

Vice President Joe Biden is a career politician who has spent virtually his entire adult life in Washington politics — seemingly the antithesis of Barack Obama's hope-and-change message.

Yet with a new political order in Washington, the success of Obama's presidency hinges more and more on the negotiating skills and political instincts of his No. 2.

Facing a revived Republican Party, the White House is expected to increasingly deploy Biden as a presidential surrogate to find compromises and coax reluctant lawmakers into crossing party lines. Even Biden's penchant for veering off message is being reevaluated inside the White House as a bridge to ordinary voters who appreciate blunt talk.

That's too bad, because Biden's barking up the wrong tree without a paddle, if you know what I mean.

Perhaps, but you mangled that metaphor pretty badly. Let's just say you think he is going in the wrong direction.

Joe Biden is definitely No. 2. A steaming pile of it.

Yeah, right. Blunt talk is okay; stupid mindless babbling is not. And I still want to know where all the porkulus-stimulus went - Biden was supposed to keep track of that.

Obama was having a staff meeting and commented that 78% of Americans do not know who the VP is.

Biden raises his hand and says---"could you give us a hint?"

Obama has told insiders that no one in the West Wing matches Joe Biden
when it comes to his ties on the Hill, depth of knowledge on how Congress
works and having the members’ trust on both sides of the aisle.....

"What's that, Arlen baby? Afraid you're gonna lose? Trust me, Arlen, old pal.
About as much chance as that happening as Michele having a watermelon-eating
contest on the WH lawn."

Compromise? The tea Party will lacerate Republicans who so much as spit in the direction of Obama. The new definition of bipartisanship in Washington is called "former member."

PONDER THIS, MR PRESIDENT (/SNIX) Nov Midterms were Dems worst night since 1928. They had it all. And blew it, thanks to know-nothing Obama and the Dems' "bitter clinging" to the O/Care debacle.

Dems suffered dramatic defeats at every level of government, in Washington, and beyond. Sweeping setbacks on Capitol Hill and the loss of multi-state governorships, even in left-leaning states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania. They even lost Illinois, a Dem bastion (home to Ohaha and his WH crew).

Repubs flipped at least 14 state chambers, and have unified control of 25 state legislatures Fifty five state chambers are controlled by Repubs with a win of 500 Republican legislators.....100 in NH alone. In Maine, the Repubs have a trifecta---they control the governorship and both houses.

sorry but have to agree with article.

Where Barry is a lame ass tard of salseman who couldn’t close a closet door, Joe is one heck of a street tough and can get things done.

Sure he sucks on domestic issues and he has to as a party apparachick.

However, when it comes to international politics he kicks but and is ammazingly on our side.

His contacts all over the world know he is tough negotiator who is always on America’s side and he rarely gives away anything of importance for our position.

On our side? Well, maybe.

But Slow Joe, the foreign relations expert, was well known for being famously wrong on just about everything.

Until he was tapped for the Vice-Presidency, the Washington Press Corps referred to Biden as "The Dumbest Man In Washington" (he'd have had the "Dumbest Person" title all to himself except for Patty Murray).

And these were his allies...

This year the State of the Union Address falls on Groundhog Day? (February 2nd) Think of the irony...

One event involves people looking to a minimally intelligent creature, with a demonstrated propensity for being wrong when it prognosticates about the future. Some of his worshippers actually make life plans based on what they learn from this creature.

The other event involves a groundhog.
