The LVAD is implanted next to the heart to help its main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, pump blood through the body. Such devices are used mainly for short periods, to buy potential transplant candidates time as they await a donor organ.
Cardiologists said that in Cheney's case, the pump is likely a "bridge" that will keep him alive until he can receive a heart transplant. Many cardiac experts said at the time of his surgery that Cheney may be only one step away from a transplant but could find himself on a wait list for "months or years."

Were we EVER! The stupid lefties don’t understand how many of their lives he PERSONALLY saved, with his toughness and character. Bush was the important front face, but the jihadis saw that Cheney was going to be the steel-toed boot in the ass-kicking machine they woke up.
God saw what was to come and gave us the right men in the right spots at the right time. If it was this o-kenyan administration there on 9/11 there would have been hundreds of immediate attacks on 9/12, 9/13 and continuing, probably to this day. Thousands of lives, many liberal (the best targets are liberal cities), would be lost now, but for the brass ones of Cheney.

I think that this kind of speculation about a person’s medical condition is completely inappropriate.
How about you just go on your merry way to hell and not spew your poison on this thread. Dick Cheney has been a fine, true, lifelong public servant and a great American. This would be a good time to display a little class.
The picture in the ABC story is shocking. I pray they find a heart for him, those transplants can take years to get thru the list and find the right match.
