Cold stun for the Chesapeake fish. Same thing has been happening in NC on a smaller scale.

This year stayed warm much longer than usual. We almost went from summer to winter, bypassing any autumn weather.

I thought spot liked warmer water. They show up in the VA surf around the end of July and are usually gone by September.

I remember the ice breakers in the Chesapeake and don't remember hearing of any fish kill during that time.
