Ted Nugent 'Loves' Sarah Palin, But Wouldn't Vote for Her for President (VIDEO)

Appearing on 'Anderson Cooper 360' (weekdays, 10 PM ET on CNN) rocker, hunter and outspoken Tea Party supporter Ted Nugent heaped praise upon Sarah Palin, but also said she hasn't yet convinced him she has what it takes to be president.

"(Palin's) coming from the street, she's coming from the we-the-people rank-and-file, she makes sense when she talks, she says all the right things, she's sincere, she's knowledgeable , she's articulate, she's damn good-looking, plus she kills moose, how can you go wrong?" Nugent gushed.

However, when Cooper pressed Nugent on whether Palin would make a good president, Nugent balked.

"It's too early to tell. Right know, if we had a vote, I couldn't vote for Sarah Palin. And I love her. I love her madly, and I respect her."

When somebody as naturally sympathetic to Palin as The Nuge doesn't believe he can vote for her, maybe it's time we stop talking about the former half-governor of Alaska as a viable presidential candidate.

I’d bet good money he’d vote for her if she were the Republican nominee in 2012.

“It is not disparaging her to say she is not ready to be President at this time.”

Well that’s your opinion, not mine You people are helping the people that are dying to destroy Sarah. She is hated by our enemies and all you people do help them.

We have people that are NOT RINO’s, like Sarah, and not only are the RINOs attacking them, the so called conservatives are too. I think, the way we are going, the republican party will end up screwing itself like it always does. You don’t have to agree. It my opinion, we’ll end up with another Bush or Dole or McCain type like we always do, because we are dupes.

Pretty well sums up my feelings regarding her as well.

So, you'd rather see four more years of Obama than vote for Palin? So, either not a conservative or you're insane?

“I cannot believe that if Sarah were running for President, and the election was tomorrow, against der reader, or any other democrat, that Ted wouldn’t vote for Sarah. That’s ludicrous.”

You bet Ted would vote for her.

I can understand the apprehension he has with wanting her to go through the meat grinder election of 2012. It will be brutal and he respects her too much to want her to go through that. But if we turn up the clock and its Nov 2012 he would most assuredly vote for Sarah Palin. His mistake was offering that poor choice of words sound-bite to CNN.

One Billion..you are correct, Obama will raise it too.

And as usual, Republican voters, even on FR are deluding themselves into thinking that nominating a milk-toast Conservative or center-right Republican (ie, anyone with good press) will somehow “capture the middle”.

But, they don’t call it the stupid party for nothing, doing the same thing over, and over, and over.

Well, since the election isn't RIGHT NOW, his comment is speculative. By the time the campaign has begun,Ted might, in fact, support Sarah, and campaign for her.

Sounds like the media is trying to convince Sarah that she doesn't have enough support, and shouldn't even make the attempt.

I'm surprised Ted would say that. Sure is a lot of these "I really like Sarah Palin but or however" crap articles.

Maybe not for the nomination, but if she had it and was running against 0, Ted’d come around.

She has zero chance to win, the last time it was polled 26% of the republicans voters said they would never vote for her.

I'd bet 95% of that 26% would vote for her if she were the nominee.

Any Republican nominee has a chance of beating a failed President like Obama, especially if the economy and unemployment rate don't significantly improve.

The left hates everyone on our side. Everyone. You put yourself out there, they hate you.

I am tired of thinking of her as a poor victim. She stays out there so she must not mind it.

IMO, that is a good thing she does that.

That’s been me the entire way. She’s great but can do more defeating the hags of the View and it’s viewership by providing competing programming. She ought to sign on to do a show in the same time slot as those awful hags. That’s where she can help galvanize feelings. The next President is going to need to be the polar opposite of the Light Worker. The next President needs to possess statesman gravitas in spades. Someone above politics. Like I stated, the opposite of Obama. Unfortunately, well you know the problem. Nobody’s out there worth a flip.

It won’t come down to Obama or Palin. One or both will not run, but if they do we will have a strong third party candidacy. And that person, by default, will most likely throw the race to the Dems.

Ted, pull the trigger man, vote for the woman. If it looks like an Elk, sounds like an Elk and walks like one it’s gotta be the real deal. What a trophy that would be too!

don’t freak out people, I’m backing Sarah, just using tedspeak to get him to pull the lever for her.
