A Framingham SWAT team member yesterday was placed on administrative leave for fatally shooting a 68-year-old grandfather of 12, police said, as relatives struggled to cope with the sudden and violent death.
I was shocked, said grandson Andrew Wilkins, 23, of Springfield, who fondly recalled playing pickup basketball in Cambridge with Eurie Stamps. I just didnt understand what transpired. What exactly caused a situation like that to happen?
Early Tuesday morning, police raided the home at 26 Fountain St. as part of a multiweek drug investigation and shot Stamps, who was not the target of the investigation, according to police reports. Two 20-year-old men were arrested on drug charges. No weapons were recovered at the scene.
Framingham police declined to release any details about the officer on leave.

I’m thinkin’ that by the time I’m 67 I’m going to stop with the crack house stops.
how could something like this ever go down in a liberal utopia?
This damn swat crap has got to stop. There is no reason for this shit. Neither person had a record, the only thugs involved here are the ones carrying the machine guns.
Sounds like someone/swat team member murdered the wrong person who was defenseless. When is this nonsense going to stop in America?
uhhh well, one was on parole, how do you do that without a record... still it was most clumsily executed.
It's funny how the DA protects cops/the gangsters but when it comes to a citizen they would be in jail with a half million dollar bond.Mistakes are crimes also Mr.DA.
The man was out on bail that normally means a charge not a conviction. They stormed the house after they arrested the clown out side.
I’m sure you forgot the ‘sarcasm’ tag.
It happens all the time! We have had several innocent people killed. One was a wood carver and another was a older gentleman was killed in his corvette when officers fired a taser at him and his corvette lurched forward away from the police the police officer fired his weapon and killed him. The victim was intoxicated I might add and he had not left the establishments parking lot! The wood carver was crossing the street when an officer yelled at him to drop his knife at which time the officer shot and killed him!
Cops are gun happy.
This crap has to stop. Don’t these morons realize that people actually leave their houses? Arrest them outside.
SWAT should only be used for hostage situations, bomb threats, and acts of terror.
I guess there wasn’t a dog on the scene to shoot.
It well stop when we do away with this stuip war on drugs.
The war on drugs has been respondsible for a huge decline in are rights.
The study was done by having a "panel" apply what they thought was a painful electrical shock to a volunteer test subject. When they were face-to-face with the subject, there was a lot of stress. When they wore masks, they didn't hesitate.
No it won't. You'll never be able to take away the tanks, machine guns, kevlar, grenades, etc. The cat is out of the bag and from now on, it will be "us" against "them", a police state.
the fact that they caught at least one, OUTSIDE the house BEFORE commencing entry tells me they were determined to practice a forced entry and terrorize the old guy for the audacity of tryin to be a grandpa and helpin his family...
i wonder if the cop went to vegas for the weekend, with 'administrative leave' pay of course...???
almost forgot...IBFReedumbwarrior enlightens us and sniffs cop jocks...
Yes. I’m wondering the same thing. Why do they need an army to arrest a couple of crack heads?
