The decapitated bodies of 15 young men have been found in the Mexican beach resort of Acapulco.
Police said they were discovered near a shopping centre and were all aged between 15 and 25.
They were dumped there by drug cartel members fighting over the control of the drugs business in the city.

In this latest violent incident, police responding to a report of a burning vehicle near Acapulco's Plaza Senderos shopping centre shortly after midnight found five other abandoned vehicles and the decapitated bodies.
Media reports say that three messages signed by Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa cartel and Mexico's most wanted drug baron, were found alongside the bodies.
The messages reportedly said that the attack was a warning against criminal groups fighting Mr Guzman's organisation.
It is believed to be the largest single group of decapitation victims found since President Calderon launched his offensive against the cartels.
Acapulco is in an area of Mexico where the drug trade is controlled by La Familia Michoacana, one of the most violent cartels.

It’s still all drug related. You don’t go out in TJ after 2am looking for drugs, you will find problems. You don’t go out in Detroit at 2am either. The cartels are killing each other. Sometimes in the USA innocent bystanders are also killed. I would venture to say that there are violent drug related deaths everyday in the USA.
People used to scold me for calling Mexico a criminal state. Mexico is corrupt because it’s culture, including its government are completely corrupt, and we are encouraging that corruption to come here. All the stolen vehicles, the people killed by illegals driving drunk, people murdered, the drugs, the gangs, the rapes, the crowed emergency rooms, out of work Americans don’t seem to effect the amnesty givers, but maybe headless bodies on their street corners might.

That is true. But, you're not seriously equating the low frequency of drug related deaths in our country with the butchery and carnage savaging Mexico, are you?
Many large companies here in San Antonio no longer permit their employees to make calls on business clients and prospects in Mexico. The armed forces have told the troops, "stay out of Mexico."

These are unplugged OBAMA people. THIS is what OBAMA is comfortable with and WANTS here. Obama HATES America and this is another way to DESTROY U.S. by giving amnesdy to criminals like himself. Obama has NO REGARD or RESPECT for our LAWS. Obama is as LAWLESS as these thugs in Mexico.

I was called a ‘’racist a-hole’’ on this site for voicing exactly the sentiments you just did. I agree with you that Mexico is a society totally corrupt at every level and shows absolutely no inclination whatsoever to change. I despise these people for the waste, the lawlessness and criminality they embrace. Not content with destroying their own country their destroying our country in the process.

I was recently in Polanco D.F. for a month and saw no signs of fear or stress except when my Mexican friend reacted at my suggestion to get a taxi as we were needing to make an appointment. I asked why the hesitation and she said because there had been incidents of the type you described but we were in Polanco going to the other side of Polanco so she thought it would be Ok.
The only other sign of potential extreme violence was at the entrances to some of the upscale shopping malls where a security guard would be armed with a heavy machine gun which seemed out of place with all the shoppers coming and going just as one would see here in the USA.
On another shopping center site, my friend’s 18 year old son and I went to the Liverpool store in the Sante Fe district, at night. We parked in the outside parking lot and went into the mall. There were no heavily armed guards, no incidents and no sign of fear or stress. Everything was normal, very well lit outside, upscale just as in the USA.
Mexico City is a huge place, more than 20 million people and I was in districts that were considered safe. Still I was made aware by my friends that there were dangers but they seemed well adapted and happy. Maybe the fear and stress was not much more different than being in NYC.
We drove to Acapulco and ate out at restaurants. We stayed in a gated condo development. Everything seemed normal, no unusual stress or fear even when out and about on the strip there. It was definitely nothing like some of the border towns. The streets were clean, modern, well-lit, good traffic signals, people driving and behaving normally. We went to a wedding reception on the north end of Acapulco and it was the older part but it did not seem terribly unsafe.
Mexico is a country of many contrasts. I saw the good part but I did not doubt that extreme violence could be found in other sectors that I did not go to. From what I have been told, the Mexico today has a ‘Columbia problem’ in that many of the cartels were started by and developed by cartels that were exiled from Columbia.
If you had plenty of funding and political power, how would you see Mexico improving so that people could feel it was a safe destination with a strong rule of law?
You need to look at the big picture. American Drug related crimes are 25% of all violent crimes. See the attached link.

In examining the State and Federal prison inmates who reported being under the influence of drugs at the time of their offense, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (1997) reports the following:
§ 24.5 percent (24.5%) of Federal and 29 percent (29%) of State prison inmates reported being under the influence of drugs when committing violent offenses.
§ 10.8 percent (10.8%) of Federal and 36.6 percent (36.6%) of State inmates reported being under the influence of drugs while committing property offenses.
§ 25 percent (25%) of Federal and 41.9 percent (41.9%) of inmates reported being under the influence of drugs when committing drug offenses.
§ 24.4 percent (24.4%) of Federal and 22.4 percent (22.4%) of State prison inmates reported being under the influence of drugs when committing weapon offenses.
