This delay is both unnecessary and melodramatic.

I agree and would add weak and self-important.

The best rebuke to anarchy and savagery is calm resolve.

Agree. We’ve got a 1.4 trillion dollar deficit and these dumb bunnies should spend their time finding budget cuts, voting on them and sending them to the Senate.

What is wrong with these people?

With as slow as everything moves on the hill you think a one week delay because a rep got shot is “unnecessary”? I think you are melodramatic and unnecessary.

Reminds me of McCain suspending his campaign during the financial crisis.

I agree with you. I saw this coming immediately from the news yesterday. The left was spouting statements to the effect that we cannot continue feeding anger, yada yada yada.

I knew they would try to use this to get the new Congress to be less aggressive in their attacks on the administrations agenda. This is bad. Just as we gain some power the left will now use this to get us to “cross the aisle” and “compromise”. Knowing the GOP it will work. God help us.

And the left thought the reading of the constitution was a waste of time.

"This delay is both unnecessary and melodramatic."

Only in government does all work stop when something tragic happens. The rest of us peons are expected to carry on because our lives depend on it.
