When will America's sanctimonious liberal elites stop whining about the Tea Party...
The Telegraph ^ | 1/8/2011 | Nile Gardiner

One of the most pathetic sights in post-midterm America is that of whining liberal elites still trying to demonise the Tea Party, with ever more ludicrous and hate-filled attacks. Instead of acknowledging that their own side took a massive hammering at the midterm elections and learning from it, the US Left remains obsessed with beating the conservative Tea Party, which played a key role in their historic defeat. Of course, humility is not a term that generally applies to sanctimonious leftists, and many of their leaders still behave as though they can act with impunity in the face of public opinion – witness Nancy Pelosi’s supremely arrogant and partisan speech before grudgingly stepping down as Speaker of the House.

Two extraordinary attacks on the Tea Party in the past few days stand out. The first is by Howard Dean, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, who tried to paint the movement as something straight out of a 1950s sitcom and stuck in a time warp. Dean, who ran for president in 2004, and used to be Governor of Vermont, had this to say to a Christian Science Monitor breakfast:

I think it’s the last gasp of the 55-year-old generation. Older folks have seen their life change dramatically. The country’s not the same.

Every morning when they see the president, they are reminded that things are totally different than they were when they were born. The economy, and the uncertainty of the economy fuels [the Tea Party movement], but this is the last gasp of a generation that has trouble with diversity.

This is BO’s attempt to copy Bill Clinton’s attack on the Right after the OKC bombing for his own political gain. This time, the Right better fight back or the state-run media will again succeed in demonizing them.

Again, a foreign press gets to the meat of the argument.

I love to listen to them whine.
It means that they fear the Tea Party and all it stands for.
Thus, we have done our job and will continue doing it until the last socialists is out of government.

The reason liberal democrats complain and ridicule the Tea Partiers is because they are scared shitless about the movement.

The liberal democrats see a growing movement in the Tea Party and it is spreading over the entire country, gathering momentum.

But the Tea Party movement should not be viewed as a third party but instead as an activist watchdog movement over both political parties, weeding out those that refuse to stop the government spending, those that refuse to shrink the size, scope and intrusion of the federal government, those who see that the only answer to our debt crisis is to raise taxes, those whose ideology is to increase the massive government bureaucracy with constanr regulations for us all except themselves, those who govern according to their own self interest rather than governing by the will of the American people, those who feel they are above the rule of law, those who are in the pocket of special interest lobbyists, those who make secret deals behind closed doors, without debate and without transparency, those who violate their oath of office and a strict interpretation of the US Constitution.

When we hammer them into submission with the truth. Collect the videos of leftists calling for violence and rebut them with actual evidence as publically as possible as often as possible.

Nile Gardiner will be able to write a ‘Part 2’ to this piece, now that the Libs are blaming the Tea Party for the AZ shootings

Apparently Dean has never actually been to a TEA Party. If he had he’d see that it’s represented across races, sexes and ages. The biggest common denominator is not our age or race. It is that we think Government has far overstepped its bounds and needs to be reined in.

Never, although at some point I hope it’s just their family that hears about it as they slip into total obscurity... =:-D

Not only are they scared of the constitutionally conservative Tea Party, they’re afraid a similar movement of progressive socialists will well up in their own ranks and target moderate Dems.

There was some evidence of this in ‘10 where Democrats in some districts did not support incumbents who voted against Obama care (McMahon in NY-13 is one example). Also in AR, unions spent $10 million plus to defeat Lincoln in the primary process in favor of the left leaning Halter.

If this becomes widespread, Dems don’t have a prayer of taking back the swing districts they lost this time around and they will lose even more swing districts.

Howard Dean: “I think it’s the last gasp of the 55-year-old generation. Older folks have seen their life change dramatically. The country’s not the same.

........... Statement like that really tick me off. Progress, progress, progress. You are just too old to appreciate the good changes progressives make.
