He found his peace and kept the promise that he made to himself the day after they landed in France and had their first battle.
I read his book "Beyond the Band of Brothers", As a fan of the movie and Ambrose book, I felt that I had to hear his version. Which proved that Ambrose did a remarkable job telling the story of these men.
