Vicki Kennedy: Senate seat ‘not for me’
Boston Herald ^ | 1/12/11 | O'Ryan Johnson

The wife of the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy — a Democratic favorite to run against Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and reclaim the seat her husband held —has ruled herself out of the race, leaving the Democratic primary field wide open.

Victoria Reggie Kennedy had been heavily courted by Democrats to run for the seat, but she told New England Cable News in an interview aired last night that it’s “not for me.”

“No, I’ve consistently said, ‘Not for me. Not for me,’ ” Kennedy told the station. “I’m very flattered, but you know . . . really, I couldn’t imagine running for elected office without Teddy at my side.”

Michael Goldman, a long- time Democratic campaign manager and political consultant, said Kennedy’s remarks will clear the way for established politicians as well as people from the private sector to challenge Brown in 2012.

“People are going to be very surprised about this,” Goldman said.

“She would have been the favorite, if she had run. Clearly, a lot of people were hesitant to think seriously of a run if she had decided to go ahead. This allows people to move ahead with their plans. It probably also allows her to pursue her interests without people wondering whether she’s doing it to get ready for a potential run.”

Goldman said he expects to see experienced politicians such as Congressmen Michael Capuano (D-Somerville) and Ed Markey (D-Malden), as well as less well-known candidates, step into the ring.

“A lot of people inside and outside the political environment are going to look at this race differently now,” he said. While former U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy has been seen as a potentially strong candidate, so far he has not expressed interest.

Maybe we can rest easy. Kennedys truly gone! Though there are the likes of one of Joe Kennedy the 3rd's sons... or Ted Kennedy Jr... Certainly not Caroline "Umm" Kennedy...

Then again from the same paper...
http://bostonherald.com/news/politics/view/20110112joe_joe_time_to_end_toxic_talk/srvc=home&position=3

A confident Joseph P. Kennedy III burst onto the Bay State’s political scene yesterday as the “new Kennedy” — demanding an end to political vitriol on the 50th anniversary of the historic “City on a Hill” speech by his ggreat-uncle, the late President John F. Kennedy.

“Ladies and gentlemen, something happened last weekend. It is time for a change. For too long, the rhetoric from Washington has been toxic,” said the soft-spoken Kennedy, whose grandfather Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated 42 years ago, regarding the attempted murder of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Arizona).

They deny "Joe Joe" will run but Kennedy family friend Phil Johnston guessed he may run at some point.

These people worship Kings

and their descendants ...

I, on the other hand, hate Kings,

and their descendants.

Me and my good friend Thomas Paine.

You know the Dems will target Brown to get "Ted's seat" back.

I won't be surprised if Joe III runs. Will voters be able to resist the mystique or can we finally turn the page away from the Kennedy clan? That's Change I can support!

“Vicki Kennedy: Senate seat ‘not for me’”

Makes sense since Scott Brown (RINO) is a clone of the “swimmer”.

So Ted would have voted against Obamacare, against Kagan, against stimulus; Kennedy would have been against driver’s licenses for illegals, pro-death penalty, pro-gun rights?
Admittedly he can be called a RINO but he votes our way sometimes. He would most likely be replaced by someone who would vote with us 0 per cent of the time

By all means run someone more conservative against him in primary; if he defeats Brown he’ll lose the final 90-10.
This is Massachusetts
