The tone was somber and as you say, resolute. She wasn’t speaking to fire up a crowd, or make herself heard over loud cheering. Don’t know if a voice coach has been consulted, but from what I’ve seen on the TLC show; in more quiet settings, that’s a pretty normal speech pattern.

It has been a while since I head Gov. Palin speak; is it just my imagination, or has her accent shifted ever so slightly? Although it never bothered me, some people have complained in the past that they couldn't stand her voice and accent... and it doesn't seem (at least to me) to be as pronounced as it used to be.

As usual, the content of the message was excellent, and was a great and welcome contrast to the shrill cries of the MSM.

but he needs to place the lights so they don’t reflect off her glasses. I found it distracting.

Excellent point....tho I've not seen the actual video yet.

One can buy "anti-glare" glasses tho...then no matter what, she wouldn't have to worry about the lights.

In point of fact...I like her glasses....they give her a very studied appearence.

I can hear Obama from here saying “Sh#t sh#t sh#t, why couldn’t she just shut up till after I say all that.”

This us the speech HisZeroeness wishes he knew how to give only to fool the sheeple one more time.
Now all he needs to do is transcribe it for the teleprompters.

". . . President Obama and I may not agree on everything, but I know he would join me in affirming the health of our democratic process. . . "

What an incredible statement!!! It is the most powerful one in the entire speech (and there were plenty!).

It put the little tin god exactly where he belongs...on the defensive.

And it took a Tea Party conservative future President to do it!

Where in the heck are the RINO "front runners"??? The old, tired, same-o, same-o losers from 2008? Quiet! And that is as it should be.

All of them are now trying to come up with a response that can come even close to SPs ... and they'll fail. Their best and only response is to shut up and hope this blows over.

But it won't. I believe the Mama Grizzly has finally come out of hibernation. The 2012 Presidential campaign starts now.

Once again, the good lady finds center-mass of the sweet spot, drills it dead-perfect zero, and knocks another one out of the park.

After having waited an appropriate amount of time to let Americans mourn the dead, digest the facts, and be ready to hear what's next, Sarah puts the blame where it belongs and the focus on what's important.

Best of all, she pre-empts whatever might be O'Bozo's manufactured, handler-written, automaton-delivered teleprompter p*ss to be delivered later today.

She is the past-master of the current political realm, and everyone else is just scrambling to find a spot, however small, in the shards of light surrounding the impossibly long shadow she casts on the rest of the political field.

Palin is so unerringly acute at diagnosing the condition and prescribing the cure that it is almost unfair to those whose unenviable job it is to challenge her in the grand American political arena. While I wish them all well, it is in their ultimate defeat that I hope they find succor, because she is what America needs, now more than ever.

Great, great speech, delivered absolutely pitch perfect.

As I said on the other thread that I happened upon first ; } I do think Sarah is great, but have had the wait and see what develops mindset, presidentially speakin’...

But speeches like that, voicing the thoughts and beliefs that so many Americans have, delivered with such quiet, reasoned strength, sure does go a long way in the right direction.

May God bless us, every one.

Could be and another good point. But more authoritative and easier to listen to. I hope it is the launch of ‘Serious Sarah’ as she ramps up for her campaign.

Sarah did a great job with this. Great message...the tone is right and the timing all very good, too.

I think it covers as many demographics as can be reasonably expected,
and most importantly does so with two individuals with demonstrated ideological and real-world integrity.

HisZeroeness wishes he could have written that as a speech.
Now if he can only get it transcribed into his teleprompters?

“President Reagan said, “We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.” Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own. They begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively with all the citizens of a state, not with those who listen to talk radio, not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle, not with law-abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their First Amendment rights at campaign rallies, not with those who proudly voted in the last election.”

I stand in awe of Sarah Palin’s abilities as a communicator. She has a gift for self expression and for connecting both with the patriots of the past, like Reagan, and those of the the present, the Tea Party, and weaving a seamless tapestry that connects the two and is, in fact, America.

She is one of a kind. The left knows it. We know it. We must defend her as our leader and protect her with our prayers. We must not be afraid for her safety. Fear is useless. What is needed is trust. Trust that God will protect her, and ask Him to do so. Every day.

Excellent.

I'm one of those conservatives a little queasy about Palin’s chances in a general election, but every time I get to feeling that way, she keeps reeling me in.

Reports of her political demise were a tad premature

I was wondering what she was going to do to respond, this was as good as it gets.
