Some Ariz. Repub. party officials resign after Tucson shooting (McCainiac attacks Tea Party)
The Washington Post ^ | 2011-01-12 | Emi Kolawole

(snip)

A conflict that has been going on between local Arizona Republicans came to an end in the wake of the shooting in Tucson on Saturday when Arizona's Republican District 20 Chairman Anthony Miller and several others chose to resign.

The Arizona Republic reports that Miller, 43, a former campaign worker for Sen. John McCain who was re-elected to a second one-year term last month, has been concerned for his family's safety by constant verbal attacks and blog posts from some local committee members with tea party movement ties.

(snip)

Miller, the first and only African-American to hold the party's precinct chairmanship, said he had been called "McCain's boy," and that, during a speech, a member of the audience made the symbol of a gun with his hand and pointed it at him. "I wasn't going to resign but decided to quit after what happened Saturday," Miller said. "I love the Republican Party but I don't want to take a bullet for anyone."

Mr. Miller said he quit because of the Tea Party, not the left.

This guy is a RINO who has chosen to aid and abet the left’s attempt to pin the AZ shooting on Palin, Tea Parties and conservatives. Their orchestrated campaign is crashing and burning so they trot this guy out. His working for McBipartisan says all I need to know about him.

The good news is: 1. A RINO has taken himself out of the game. 2. His grandstanding will be for naught.

To Mr. Miller I say good bye, good riddance and don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.

Dixiechick—Unfortunately your comment about conservative male politicians not appearing to be properly equipped for a knock down drag out is apt. But I’m fine with Conservative women showing them the way to remedy that short fall.

This milquetoast and cohorts bow out because “someone” in an audience points a finger at him?!

This is great news.

Hopefully all the RINOs will take a queue from these who just resigned...any word on whether McCain will? We can only pray, vote...and point a finger.

The alleged finger pointing is as phony as the racial slurs allegedly aimed at black Democrat politicians last year. Allegations which were also not supported by a scintilla of evidence.

After a concerted drive to recruit conservative Precinct Chairmen in Maricopa County the control held over the country by McCain was ended.

Just think what conservative PCs from FR could do in other counties across the nation!

McCain staffer resigns as LD 20 Chair due to district PC opposition

Anthony Miller, the Chairman of GOP Legislative District 20, while simultaneously serving as a paid McCain staffer, has tendered his resignation as District Chairman — effective immediately. His action comes in the wake of the conservative sweep at the Maricopa County Statutory Meeting on Saturday and opposition to his leadership within his own district.

Read Miller’s letter here.

Jeff Kolb, the district’s Communication Director has also submitted his immediate resignation, citing a “hostile” environment within the district.

Re-bout! Haney counter-punches establishment candidate into the ropes 1281- 575

Today, in a spectacular reaffirmation, Maricopa County Republican Chairman Rob Haney has evidenced the depth of his grassroots tea party support by trouncing Bill Cheatham, the establishment choice in the attempt to unseat Haney as chairman.

This is an even more overwhelming victory than evidenced in the January 10, 2009 election.

In a packed El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, elected precinct committeemen went to bat for Rob Haney — who won the endorsements of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Sen. Russell Pearce and National Committeeman Bruce Ash. Haney‘s name was placed in nomination by AZ GOP Chairman Randy Pullen.

Haney, the former District 11 Chairman, won with almost 70 percent of the ballots cast.  His slate of officers also won overwhelmingly. The six Maricopa County Committee by-law changes were also big winners, as each won by over 1,000 votes.

With the efforts of the conservative base, nearly one thousand new precinct committeemen were added to the country rolls. Today’s attendance, the largest ever, clearly reflected that new growth.

More McCain idiots in AZ. I was invited to a all expense paid trip to Scotsdale which meant free golf too. I turned it down. Any state that panders to Juan McCain is no interest to me.

Good for you. "Cowards die a thousand times before their deaths . . . "

I've been threatened too. It comes with the territory. You just tell 'em "Bring it" (and don't let them see the .45 pistol in the back of your waistband).

99 percent of the bullies are cowards who would never actually do anything. For the occasional loony, you hope you can beat him to the draw.

I think you are right.

The press, in alienating a big chunck of its audience, is merely hastening the fall of the Main Stream Media. No one believes them anymore.

We all know it, but they have not yet gotten the point.

Mr. Miller said he quit because of the Tea Party, not the left.

I know what he said and I don't believe him. But even if it were true, you don't run from such things you face them.

As a black conservative myself, I can understand Mr. Miller’s frustrations in dealing with hatred from the intolerant left.

I applaud your steadfastness but this guy claimed it was the Tea Party on his arse and hinted at racism...he sounds like a David Brooks sort of "conservative"

Next we'll find out he's really a homosexual and he'll become a HuffPo contributor...McCain sure had a lot of these types around him didn't he?
