Blood libel against Palin, Limbaugh: Liberals stoop to new low to score points from murder
The Washington Times ^ | January 12, 2011 | The Editors

Sarah Palin issued a statement yesterday condemning the "reprehensible" response to Saturday's shooting in Tucson by some members of the media. "Within hours of a tragedy unfolding," she wrote, "journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn."

Some have keyed on the use of the expression "blood libel" as inapt. The term usually refers to the centuries-old accusation that Jews use the blood of gentile children in making matzos for Passover. The appearance of the blood libel is often the prelude to massacres or other forms of anti-Semitic persecution and is alive and well in some parts of the world, especially the Middle East.

Mrs. Palin is well within her rights to feel persecuted. Since the Saturday bloodbath, members of the liberal commentariat have spoken in a unified voice, charging her and other conservatives with being indirectly or somehow directly responsible for the lunatic actions of accused gunman Jared Loughner. Typical of blood libel, the attack against Mrs. Palin is a false charge intended to generate anger made by people with a political agenda. They have made these claims boldly without evidence and without censure or consequence.

This is simply the latest round of an ongoing pogrom against conservative thinkers. The last two years have seen a proliferation of similar baseless charges of racism, sexism, bigotry, Islamophobia and inciting violence against those on the right who have presented ideas at odds with the establishment's liberal orthodoxy.....

The overwhelmingly irrational response of the Left demanding that conservatives stop whatever they are doing all comes down to one thing.

The Left is using any excuse to drive home their singular desperate message...

PLEASE DO NOT LOOK AT, or, if you have already started, PLEASE STOP LOOKING AT THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!

It is not enough to defend Governor Sarah Palin. It is not enough to make our voices heard. It most certainly is NOT the time to allow LIBs to control the argument.

EVERY SINGLE PERSON HERE, EVERY INDIVIDUAL TEA PARTY ADHERANT, EVERY SINGLE CONSERVATIVE IS BEING LIBELED. I personally had no part in the shootings, direct or indirect, active or passive. Yet I am being accused of being so.

Is there a single lawyer here that can tell me how I can sue that dumb a$$ Dupnik? I want a gag order on him and a sincere apology to ALL TEA Party adhereants and ALL Conservatives.

I do believe she is aware of what the stakes are and that she is full on in it to protect the USA.

None other than the famous Jewish Harvard Law Professor, Alan Dershowitz, has declared Sarah Palin’s use of this term to be perfectly acceptable. Heard this on TV this a.m.

...”I do believe she is aware of what the stakes are and that she is full on in it to protect the USA”...

Their attacks on her will mature her into the leader everyone will want. I have always believed that she is similar to the Biblical “Ester” in that her purpose is to save her “people,” the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This may sound simple to many, but it is what I believe. She is the flip side of everything which has destroyed us over the years since the 60s and her greatest asset is that she is NOT a member of the IVY LEAGUE ELITE in government and the media, who have grown so secular and, in some cases, so corrupt.

Liberals didn’t like “death panels” and death panels they turned out to be.

It is more than obvious that the Left and their handmaidens in the msm are engaged in a “blood libel.”

This is the Palin I’ve been waiting for save the circumstances.

I said it about 3 months ago, she is not a Momma Grizzly, she is a Cougar (not in the street lingo).

A large cat will stalk it's prey and will not back down and waits for the moment to strike. She has been playing possum the whole time, in my gut I knew she had it in her, and would show it when the time was ready, this one one of these times. It will be a glimpse of her in the primaries. Her competitors and Oboingo don't stand a chance.

A leftist at times yes, but old enough to a classical education (compared to today) and has enough logic and critical thinking skills to understand that her analogy was correct.

"Dupnik is a miserable failurend he is obviously hiding something.."

Primarily, he's trying to divert attention from the fact that his office had ignored complaints about Loughner, so a big part of the blame is on HIM and not Sarah Palin.

I wonder if the Arizona Tea Party can encourage some opposition for him in the next election??

And despite his leftism, a man with sufficient intellectual honesty to "go public" with the commentary, COMPLETELY unlike most liberals, who will tell any lie to gain advantage.

There "are" a (very) few honest liberals out there. Most are not.

“Within hours of a tragedy unfolding,” she wrote, “journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves ONLY TO CITE THE VERY HATRED AND VIOLENCE THEY PURPORT TO CONDEMN.”

The CAPs added by me because this is the important part of this sentence for me. The journalists and pundits have jumped on the “blood libel” so everyone will ignore the hatred and violence of these people. They don’t want to talk about what they actually do, only to destroy Mrs. Palin and other. I asked my senators and representative if they knew a leader who would say the journalists and pundits were the ones creating this havoc; so glad Mrs. Palin is capable of being a leader.

Truth is beyond their ken.

Not a psychiatrist, but there seems to be a Sado-Massochistic, Love\Hate element to the Palin\Left “thang”.

The left is Sadistic in their abuse of Sarah, yet, at the same time, they are willing to set themselves up for the beating that she will inflict upon them in response.

The stupidity of the Left is beyond belief. Sarah is obviously a threat to them, yet they CONTINUE to keep her name ‘above the fold’.

This event is now nearly a week old and Sarah Palin, thanks to the Left, is emerging a more powerful force than before.

You go Girl !

I think that what really pissed them off was her use of the verb, "purport."

Whenever I've used it I get a strong reaction from the purporter.

Sarah has shown a knack for finding the words that are most effective at hitting home with her critics. With that in mind, I think there’s a second reason for her using the word “libel”... perhaps as a warning shot to all those in the print media who tried to implicate her (and all things conservative) in a multiple homicide.

CHRONOLOGY OF ANY EVENT:

1) Negative Event Occurs.
2) Immediately blame Sarah Palin.
3) Events unfold showing Sarah Palin not at fault, or even involved.
4) Blame Sarah Palin harder.
5) IF SARAH PALIN DOES NOT RESPOND: Declare her out-of-touch and non-Presidential.
