Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), who could face a stiff reelection challenge in 2012, says she’s looking forward to campaigning frequently with President Barack Obama.

“I’d like him to be there as much as possible. He helped save our economy in Michigan,” Stabenow said last week in an interview with POLITICO in her office in the Hart Stabenow, who has served in elected office since age 24, heads into her fight for a third term facing some early warning signs.

.........

“I’ve seen him stand up and be very courageous when we needed him to be. It’s no small thing that he stood up and he didn’t walk away from the American automobile industry at a time when there was a lot of criticism from all over the place,” she said.

“I have great empathy for everything that has come at them. Are there things I would do differently? Yeah, but I sure am glad he’s there,” she said.

The two Republicans most often mentioned as potential challengers to Stabenow are Michigan investor Tim Leuliette and former Rep. Pete Hoekstra.

Dumb and dumber. Obama and Stabenow. We need to fire this idiot in 2012. I never heard of Leuliette. Hoekstra is middle of the road, although at least pro-life.

Yeah, the rest of us are looking forward to seeing you appear together too, Stabs. Stand together early and often. Be sure to have the blight of Detroit and some unemployment lines as backdrops for your pics.

Hoekstra is from West Michigan so doesn’t have a chance at State Wide Office.

I might be wrong, but didn’t Obama skip michigan in 08?

He didn't need to campaign there, because McCain surrendered it in September.

Could Debbie Stabenow actually be less intelligent than Patty Murray?

Yeah, by then unemployment will be down to maybe 9%.

Thanks to Mr. Obama.

Does he really believe that the voting public will think he’s serious about cutting the deficit, when he just cranked up federal spending by 26% in the past 22 months, and spent the dough on garbage?

Because dummy McCain not only quit here, he announced he quit to the whole world costing us two congressional seats.

McCain didn't have a chance after the bailout vote, but his quitting killed us downticket, including my district.

Maybe nationally, but in Dimmigan it may get to a low of 13% but’s that will be due to emigration out of the state thereby lowering the rate of unemployed people in the state. Fotunately for me my parents moved the family out of there in 1963!

Go for it StabMeNow - go ahead and have that slime ball “help” your re-election campaign - may the state of Michigan finally get rid of you and your ilk

Stabenow’s an airhead. From what I’ve heard from DC people (not Tim Walberg - he’s too nice to say anything), she’s dumber than a box of rocks.
