Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), who could face a stiff reelection challenge in 2012, says she’s looking forward to campaigning frequently with President Barack Obama.

“I’d like him to be there as much as possible. He helped save our economy in Michigan,” Stabenow said last week in an interview with POLITICO in her office in the Hart Stabenow, who has served in elected office since age 24, heads into her fight for a third term facing some early warning signs.

.........

“I’ve seen him stand up and be very courageous when we needed him to be. It’s no small thing that he stood up and he didn’t walk away from the American automobile industry at a time when there was a lot of criticism from all over the place,” she said.

“I have great empathy for everything that has come at them. Are there things I would do differently? Yeah, but I sure am glad he’s there,” she said.

The two Republicans most often mentioned as potential challengers to Stabenow are Michigan investor Tim Leuliette and former Rep. Pete Hoekstra.

Stabancow is a moron.

He might have saved the union thugs in Michigan, with our tax money, but that's all.

He already is an asset, to every country that wants to take the US down.

Michigan Unemployment

Maybe Stabenow looked at it upside down.

"He helped save out economy in Michigan."

You are absolutely right, hsalaw. Stabenow is delusional.

Michigan has the worst economy statistically in a nation suffering from a deep recession. It's the only state which lost population from the 2000 to the 2010 census. Of course, much of that can be laid at the feet of the recently departed leftist 'Rat governess, Jenny Granholm.

Many contend that at some point the few will control the masses. The only question is will it happen with or without civil unrest.

And her campaign will be titled *Cash for Cows* to raise money in a losing effort.

Will be glad when this bovine is out of our lives and no longer will be a cowpie stain on the state and country.

That’s a rhetorical question, right?

If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.

If we can't get rid of her in the 2012 cycle we will never be rid of her. And I don't like our chances.

odd, granholm blamed all michigan woes on bush just a couple years ago, and now that we’re in even worse shape, obama has “saved” our economy?

MI was a waste of time. it started that because they moved the primaries so early, DNC stripped their votes. so they all pledged not to campaign in MI. obama wasn’t even on the ticket.
he followed through and never even showed up in MI the whole election.

I really must stop reading, I am almost hysterical with laughter. Thank you.

I really, really, really would like to see her retired in the next election.

Stabenow, who has served in elected office since age 24, heads into her fight for a third term facing some early warning signs.

Just 37 percent approve of her job performance, according to an early January poll by The Detroit News. Unemployment is hovering at 12 percent in a state that has suffered a decadelong recession. And a resurgent GOP is emboldened by its gains in the statehouse and takeover of the governor’s mansion.

“I’m not surprised in the least because Michigan has been very, very hard hit. I don’t blame them for basically saying, ‘I’m going to wait and see just overall how things are going here before I make decisions.’ I understand that, totally,” Stabenow said about the most recent public poll results.

L O L !

My sides are actually starting to hurt. I really have to stop....

I predict former governor John Engler runs against her. I believe he moved back to Michigan within the past year or two...at least I thought I read that. Engler would trounce Stabenow.

Well, I certainly laughed reading your post.

I shouldn't have come back to this thread. I'm making myself hoarse laughing.

With any luck, I hope to be just as cheerful in Nov 2012, if not more so.
