A house divided against itself cannot stand but it will certainly garner a lot of media attention. As we told you earlier, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh is criticizing Fox News Channels All-Star Panel for, as he sees it, slobbering over President Barack Obamas speech at this weeks memorial event for those killed in the recent Tucson, Arizona shooting.
Fox News is, of course, fighting back. Charles Krauthammer appeared on Bret Baiers show last night and responded to Limbaughs critique:
"As one of the three slobberers I find it interesting that only the ruling class wants a president who is smart articulate and oratorical in delivering a funeral oration Its an odd and rather condescending view of what the rest of America is looking for in their president."
(Snip to video)
“the ruling class”, there you have it, they’re smart and sophisticated, we’re too dumb to “get” it. We’re Yahoos, bitter clingers.
That’s interesting, another head turned by flattery; to me, Coburn’s in that group.
bingo
Too bad. Krauthammer is a smart guy, and a capable writer. But he has contracted a case of irreversible moronitis.
That wasn't my reaction to the speech. Parts of it seemed cadged from Palin's speech, and parts of it were a bit creepy.
I do think however that Krauthammer should have given the credit to the speechwriter instead of the speech reader.
They each have their audience, and they both make their money fostering dusts-up like this one. How can it be interesting to talk about what K said about what R said about what K said about what O said?
You are onto something here. Yesterday on his radio show, Hannity was quite gushing in his commentary about the memorial speech. He went on to say the fact people were cheering at the memorial was on them not on (.)bama.
No one got through to ask Sean whether (.)bama should have asked the crowd to be more somber, as anyone not basking in their own dilusional ego trip as does (.)bama whenever he is in front of a large cheering crowd would have done. No, he reveled in it. Hannity went so far as to say people morn in different ways i.e. at an Irish Wake there will be alternating happy and sorrowful times. Last time I looked, (.)bama was not Irish, shame on Sean.
What? Is somebody pregnant?
I agree. I haven’t been watching Fox News much at all lately.
Charles doesn't ask for much in a president, hence the slobbering.
As reported by the mainstream media, of which Krauthammer is apparently a member, if the DNC talking points say that the speech was brilliant, then it was brilliant. No need to look further.
I find him to be like Ron Paul, in that about half of the guy’s statements and/or beliefs are right on target, perceptive, and even wise beyond measure, while the other half seem to be ill-conceived, reckless, and even bordering on lunacy...
Too bad Charles can’t feet that thrill up his leg.....
Wasn't that the OTHER black president, Bill Clinton; during that bizarre 'hand off' press conference? Or did Zero suck up on another occasion?
There’s a scene in the movie “The King’s Speech” where King George VI remarks, while watching Hitler’s impressive oratory on TV, “Well, he gives a good speech.”
Smooth talk is just that. So what.
Funny - this is usually what you’ll get when you ask a leftist for the evidence of Barky’s “brilliance”.
“He tawks purdy”
Got to be real brain drain stuff. The Krauth is beginning to sound mentally ill and I used to really like him.
